New Rosy Boa Pair, and Thermostat!

I FINALLY ditched the dimmer switch and forked up the money for a Johnson Thermostat and it is heaven. The temps aren't always steady in my house which means fluctuation with the dimmer switches. And it really started to suck big time. The only complaint is that it clicks when it kicks on and off, but really...it's not in my bedroom so it's no big deal. Ignore the temps on there, I just set it up...oh I also mounted another AccuRite above it with it's probe on the flexwatt too just a double check kind of thing.
Well worth my money. PICTURE 1

Next is the tub setups for my new Rosy Boa pair...they have their own tubs, but they look the same, hence only posting a picture of one tub...PICTURE 2

My male Mexican Rosy Boa, 25 grams...PICTURES 3 and 4

My female Mexican Rosy Boa, 23 grams...PICTURE 5

They are both settling in, but I will snap some more photos as soon as I can.
Enjoy and let me know whatcha think! (Even though I know they look like every other MRB and they both look the same really :p )

Nice setup, Mr. Herper. And great looking new snakes. I've been snooping around looking at rosy boas, myself, for several months now.

Jasons-Jungle.com

His name is Jason Hess...great guy out of Franklin, Indiana. He ships nationwide...thank god it was only a 40 minute drive for me though :)

I just took his last female of the year I believe...last normal Mexican anyways, he may still have 1 Albino Whitewater female left...those are beautiful! But he does have a handful of male Mexican Rosies left.

Actually there are three 12 in rows on top, with a hole every inch on top = 36 holes. There is also a hole ever 2 inches all the way around the sides of each tub.

Why don't you stop assuming things and antagonizing me David?
I have 8 more points before a ban and have no problem telling you where to shove it.

Sorry I was just wondering. I don't know a whole lot about rosys. Not antagonizing, set up looks really nice! Really cool snakes too! ;)

They actually need more wholes than most snakes...do best in about 40% humidity is what the breeder told me. They are from desert area, hence the low humidity. They are really cool, calm, get to a decent size, about 3.5 ft and as big around as a big corn.

Yep, just asking not trying to start stuff. I know some snakes need alot less holes because of higher humidity and like I said I am a colubrid guy,

Their care is going to be somewhat like a corn really...hot spot of 88-90, cool temps can drop into mid 70's just fine. I've been told they like slightly smaller meals than you would think they could take. Also water in the tub 24/7 isn't necessary, and you definitely DO NOT want water in the tub for 24-48 after eating because they are known to chug and they will regurge easily. Other than that they are great, beautiful animals, with lots of localities and colors to choose from. They are very good tempered, but are vorocious eaters! Watch those fingers!

It is a Johnson A419. I bought mine from reptilebasics.com. Cool guy over there. I ordered mine unwired cause its cheaper. They aren't hard to wire, but if you just want to avoid the hassle you can pay more to have it wired there. I had some trouble setting mine, the instructions are a bit odd, but I called them up and he talked me through it. These are SOOOO much better than a dimmer/rheostat...I haven't had to touch mine since I set it.

Thanks! I know nothing about wiring electronics, so I will leave that to the pro. How many units can I run from the prewired one? Does it come with a probe? Does that mean that I have to use the same size mats with the same power, with the same size tanks?
Thanks so much for putting this into English for me

These are 1500 watt thermostats. That is alot. Lol. They have a probe, if you buy it prewired then the probe will already be wired in, just tape it to your heat mat/flexwatt. Yes, you would have to use the same brand and same wattage heatmats otherwise it wouldn't heat each mat the same. The tanks don't have to be the same size though, just the heat mat.

Beautiful rosies... ;)

Thank you :)
