Congrats Trent!

Glad you found one this time... wish I could have went, but I probably would have picked up another corn though! :D

Send more pictures when you get the time!:)

Haha.....
you posted pictures before I could send my post!

He is awesome by the way!

*grab grab* me want!

He is absolutely gorgeous! Yours is the second that I've seen in photos....(doesn't Trixterpup have one as well?) Did you name him? I might have to put one of those on my list, too! Congrats on your new beauty!

thank you! actually yes he was the one that kind of convince me to go with a texas. i was originally planning on a black rat (leucistic) of course, but he kept following my threads and always recommended the texas. and after i looked at my state requirements, i went with the texas and am very happy. im sure if you look up leucistic texas rat, his thread for the pictures will come up. his is gorgeous as well..

and thanks jess! how's orion?

thanks!! i was very surprised that he was so active. i havent seen him for a couple of hours now, so now he's acting like a normal newbie. lol. i have 3 more pics, but my computer is being dumb and wont let me upload them. :/ oh well

awe that is a wee little thing. :) I am glad you took my advice. They are great looking snakes and I know you enjoy yours for years to come.

Sadly, i never got to see mine at this size, got him as an adult. I hope you prove all those nay sayers out there and he is nice.

And Lori, if you want to check out my guy, check out my link.

But now you got me thinking on trying to breed Leucistic black rats in the next few years. I am planning on getting some Black rats and making that one of my future projects.

yea.. he was awesome. jumpy just like a corn. and fast. lol.

at the table they had 4 or 5 texas rats in the container he was in. 2 albino and prolly 3 leucistic. and they told me to pick the one.. lol and i remember one of the nay sayers saying the best was to pick them up is to stick you hand in and let them grab on. lol. so not true.

but anyway he's just like the corn snakes. shy and jumpy but not aggressive at all. i cant wait til he gets bigger though. lol.

are you gonna try to do the leucistic? or was it more white sides? i remember you saying something about both.

I am hoping to do both in the next few years. It would be nice and do something more different than just corns.

Goal in the next few years.
Black Rats
White sided Black Rats
Leucstic Black Rats
Kistachies
White Oak Grey Rats
Trans-Pecos Rats

wow.. lots of goals.. good luck with those..

i think my only other goal is to get a brazilian rainbow boa. i have to kinda save up the money now though. so it wont be for another 6 months probably.

This is a little :-offtopic but...how was the Cleveland show? I was hoping to go but apparently my boss had other plans for me. Do you know of any other decent shows in the area?

LOL and those are just the rats, I didnt even put my Fox snake in the list yet.

I just want to try different animals that normally are not found but are still common in the hobby. Some one needs to breed them, right?

haha yes, someone needs to breed them. now, do fox snakes stink pretty bad? im not really interested in them, but i heard they stink. lol

and as for the normally not found but still kinda common, thats why i was shooting for a brazilian rainbow boa. lol. and also they are simply beautiful snakes!

To both of you texas rat snake owners...Beautiful snakes! I absolutely love the teeny texas rat tsteph3 has and the intelligent/predator eyes of yours tricksterpup. I got mine when he was a sub adult so I never got to seem mine as a baby either.

However my leucy was mean! But with careful handling he has become even more laid back than Dez, my hypo corn. He is the only sake I have out of all six that seems to enjoy having his head and chin rubbed.

Hey Lori I have a link for you too! =D
