I currently have two corn snakes and one ball python. I have started to consider maybe getting another in a couple months at the big (to me) expo near me. I would like a different kind, but not sure what. I don't want anything SUPER difficult to care for or anything that's incredibly likely to be unhandleable longterm. I'm not super picky about size I like the little guys and the big guys, but nothing too big to be handled by one person.

I am pretty interested in sand boas, specifically indian smooth skinned sand boas but I think it's pretty unlikely I will see any there so it would have to be a KSB which are also super adorable. A friend of mine recently picked up a baby jungle carpet python, and it is extremely cute, probably a bit out of my size range though.

Any suggestions from you lovely folks? :) Throw something out there and I will get to reading about it!

I've got some nice hognoses that might fit the bill...

Western hognose, Rosy boas and African House snakes, for small species. Tons of different king and milk snakes out there that are interesting and shouldn't be too hard to find locally. Come in a range of sizes too. Mandarin Ratsnakes are a super neat species, maybe a bit harder to find though, especially locally.

Ooooh hognoses sure are incredibly adorable. I hadn't even considered a rosy boa, I'll look into them. Not too interested in kings and milks at the moment, not for any particular reason though so I'll look into them anyway. I think I'll mostly likely go to the expo and see what there is to see and it will help me decide what I want, but I'm not really comfortable bringing a snake home without the setup completely ready so I imagine I won't actually bring one home from it. Unless I can decide before then!

Have you considered a boa constrictor? A male will be smaller if size is a concern. I love mine!

A male Brazilian Rainbow boa could be cool too. Bit bigger snake but not too big and super pretty! Fairly strict humidity requirements but not hard to do with the right setup.
