Niffty little lizards!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
The SEAS (Scottish Exotic Animal Society) topic this month was on fat tail geckos, Hemitheconyx caudicinctus... IMO these are under-rated little lizards. Not quite as colourful as their Leo cousins but I think they are simply stunning.

I love the subtlety of their colours, and of course the contrast. I could actually imagine one of these hopping about in the wild :p Lets hope these become more popular in the future. I know I'm definitely thinking of picking a couple up instead of Leos now! :sidestep: Why oh why do I bother going to these meetings to torture myself?!

Do any members here keep these?

Cool lizards! That gravid female looks like she's about to explode. And she really lives up to the name "fat tail". :)

I tells ya Dean, these are soooo cool. I need a couple!

I really enjoyed them - it's odd how different their skin feels to leopards, despite at first glance them looking so similar.

I love the white beading between their saddles and background colour ... I also quite fancy a few, but it's a case of space! A wild looking animal like that needs a naturalistic enclosure, and space-wise I reckon if they came here they'd end up racked really, due to lack of good viv space!

Rack the leos and use their viv space for a nice trio of fat tails?! :grin01:

I really like them and the frog eyed geckos too..
They all have really cute "pit bull" looking heads.
I had bearded dragons and Panther chameleons though for several years, and don't EVER want to deal with crickets again.

They do look cool, especially the eyes (still think cresties are cuter, though  ). So what happened to your no legs stance? :sidestep:
