Sienna, Trogdor & Melony
Alright, so ever since we got Jeff's little amel she's been a bit of a "clicker." Obviously we were concerned about her having a possible RI since she hadn't been showing any signs of shedding, and for the last few weeks we have had her temps bumped up and were keeping it really dry for her. (and thanks to all the lovely people who have posted about RI's on the forum in the past) Lately her clicking had been getting worse and she had started opening her mouth to breathe periodically. This was making us very nervous, but we decided to wait a week and see how she was since there was no visible mucus or anything.
Well, apparently we missed her blue phase, because when I fed her yesterday I noticed that her skin was very crinkly. Well, she got a good misting, and off to work I went. Sure enough, by the time I got home Jeff informed me that she had shed half her skin in pieces (probably due to her lovely dry environment for the past few weeks). Since she had just eaten that morning I waited til this morning and put her in our "himidity box," a sterilite with a warm wet towel rumpled in the bottom. Well boy did she go to town! She had that shed off in no time and is looking quite vibrant this morning. She even left me a little present in there (oh yes, some poopy ureates) to show her appreciation. The best part is that since last night we have not heard a single click from her!
Now I'm just hoping she has no problems with a regurge since she was handled at only 25 hours after her meal. Luckily she has no visible lump so we should be fine.
Now we're just waiting for Trogdor to shed (tonight?) and all three of the snakes will be bright and vibrant together. Sounds like a good photo op to me!
