Normal or special?

Hi. This is a snake that a friend of mine bought this year. It looks odd...
Not like a regular normal...What do you think?

It looks like a pretty normal to me. Nice and full too.

I would have to concur with this. The only thing that looks kinda different to me than any normals I have seen is the head pattern, but that can vary quite a bit between individual snakes.

Thank's for your answers :) This snake does'nt look like any other normal
we have seen. The colours look really special live. It's a juvenile so we'll
see how she'll turn out :)

You could always test breed her to a bloodred corns to see if she's het. That might explain why the head pattern doesn't quite look right to me..........

My normal's head pattern is almost identical.

She is very vibrant too at eight months. But she's definitely a normal normal.

The eyes seem a little bulgy, and the blotches look kind of narrow too. But I don't know, once I start suspecting hybrid, I start seeing all sorts of stuff that probably isn't there. I'm sure that it all falls within the normal variation for corns.

Looks nermal to me.. Oh wait, make that normal.. Just looks like a lighter back ground with a lot of dirty wash.. Next year it won't even look like the same snake.. BTW, nice critter, but then again I have never seen an ugly corn!

Regards..

Guess this must be a hybrid because it doesn't have any red on it and is super melanin washed---along with 'weird' eyes.

Oh yeah, that's a hybird for sure! ;)

I've got some corns with bulgy eyes too, so I don't really use that as an indicator of anything. My male snow's head-shape and bulgy eyes just said 'emoryi' to me when he was first delivered, but there is little chance that he has much emoryi in his background. Since then, I've seen many pure corns with his eye and head-shape. Even though I'm a hybrid paranoiac, I've learned that the natural variation in corns is so extreme that it's usually better to just shut up when I see suspicious attributes. I violated my rule on this one, but I did qualify the remark. :grin01:

I like that guy Joe, melanin wash and all. His pattern is very regular, almost cubed. :)

He's actually being given away this weekend. He'll never fit into my breeding plans in the near future so he's being shipped to a friend's mom. If I happen to wind up with like 5 wild caught females then perhaps i'll borrow him back just to see.

He's definitely an interesting snake---his belly is weird as well...

Damn, if you wanna give him up, I'll take him off your hands...... ;)

He almost looks like some kind of hypo. Is that one of the "pair" that you picked up last year?? Quasi maybe?? I know you're not giving up "Bertha". LOL

Damn straight I'm not giving up Bertha. I think of this as more of a loan. It's going to my friend's mother who teaches---she's got some snakes for her classroom and wanted an adult. If I managed at some point to overload in females, I'll ask for it back on a short term breeding loan basis.

And you're right---I often do wonder about the hyponess of the snake---but then that gets squashed when I see those enormous melanin stripes.
