Why? Universal healthcare is an entirely different idea and carries different conotations than does socialized healthcare. I assume you meant the latter, because I can't imagine why someone would be against universal healthcare.
 
I believe there is a rule that says that promises made during a campaign are not binding.

Seriously, until we the people stand up and kick out all the politicians we will continue to spiral. There are honest people out there who intend to do what they say, they just are not involved in politics.

We the people have some culpability with that very true statement though. I wonder if the guy who speaks only the truth could ever get elected.. :puke01:

I think (assume...maybe I assume wrong...)...anyway I think maybe what she means is that no one disagrees with the theory of universal health care, but it's reality leaves much to be desired (as does the current system I might add). Then again I could be assuming wrong, in which case heee hawww. :D
 
I think what was meant, and you're right Zoo, is that everyone would love a working universal health care plan, in theory. Why would we not want everyone to receive excellent health care? It's just the expense of doing so that's under question.

As for this topic... Nothing new! Politicians aren't the most reliable people on earth... *shocking*. And he (Obama) could never be on the same level as the real messiah, who must have actually walked on water, turned it to wine, and spared me of sinning (if I've gathered that correctly). But am I still happy that Palin's hunting Moose and watching Russians in Alaska? Higgity hellz yeah!
 
i see it like this. right now i pay for my healthcare. i have a job and all that. i pay my taxes i abide by laws (excluding 4 tickets in the last year) but iwont get into that. i think only those who pay should have healthcare.

im not gonna pay for healthcare of the lazy people in america. my local taxes already go to paying the public works to hire stupid kids to paint the fire hydrants or cut grass and play frisbee and football all dang summer.
 
You'll spend less on health care than tickets, plus the insurance rates that go with getting them, so maybe there are equal assumptions that could be made here. If people fully abide by the law, we wouldn't have to pay so much for law enforcement... just sayin'!
 
So Obama said eight times the healthcare negotiations will be on CSPAN and CSPAN didn't show them? And your complaint is OBAMA has some kind of mystic control of CSPAN and chose NOT to show this stuff? Funny. As mentioned above, you need to get those idiots in Congress (both sides in both houses), to stop taking orders from corporate America and listen to the people.

Do that and we would have fair healthcare - years ago.
 
I don't think the question was if CSPAN would carry it, it was done behind closed doors. Nobody got the chance to carry it.

 
Egads! I could only get through 1:53 minutes of this funny (but sad in a way) video. To bad there are people that really belive this junk.
