Odd Colored Motley... Opinions...

Hello All,

Just thought I would ask your opinion of this project. Years ago I got a pair of these "Anery" Motley animals and due to them never feeding well I lost them. At that time the breeder did not produce anymore. Well now years down the line, another breeder got hold of the same line of animals and is soing a great job with their production. I just got a 1.2 from him and recently took some comparison photos of them. Please let me know what you think, this project interests many of us down here.

The lower photo (sorry about the poor set-up and quality) is of an Anery "A", Pastel & this "Blue" Motley.

Nice...

Great looking animals! Is the pastel motley hypomelanistic and Anerythristic A? The "blue" looks like it shares some characteristics with Lavender..do you know it's makeup? Also are there any more of these available??

Thanks in advance
Horridus (Bart)

Horridus,

Yes the Pastel Motley is a Hypo, Anery "A" Motley. I have been producing lavenders for about 4 years and I have not witnessed this kind of contrast in any young lavender animals. I will be breeding this line into our Lavenders just to rule it out. The thing that really throws me about these is the amount of pinkish orange tint in the first half of the animals dorsal pattern. You can sort of see it in the lower photo but I will try to take some better ones today or tomorrow. I do not know if the breeder still has any available.

Please keep these opinions coming...

Very nice looking snakes there.
I am no where near an experienced herper.....so maybe Rich or someone with similar knowledge will shed a light on us...

COOOL just saw your show schedual!!!! You are coming to the ETHS show in Houston!!! I sooooo very happy. I want one of those motleys!!! Female preferably but I will take any!!! E-mail me with prices and pics please of what ya have avaiable plz plz!!

It's hard to make out details, but the "blue" one appears to have a "hurricane" type pattern, with the two-toned edging around the saddles. (Love those hurricanes!)

Other than that, it's difficult to see what exactly it going on with its colors. The Anery motleys I've seen (and hatched one this year, whee!) have looked totally like the one on the lower left. They remind me of whitewall tires.

Cool stuff. Let us know if you find anything out. :)
