theres snake porn going on in the basement. the female i suspected to be gravid,was obviously ovulating(males been all over her)so pretty good chance of more eggs,unfortunatly:( as much as i'd love more babies,i was trying to get her to gain back her prelay weight. so much for that idea:eek: i hope she waits to lay her new clutch,my incubator is still full with her first clutch.oh well,guess i better order more pinkies,just in case:) just a little curious,as to if anyone has had snakes breed,but not get eggs?

But why do you house her with males, if you were hoping she would not breed again? Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose? Sex is sex, doesn't matter whether or not you want them to. If they can, they will. ;)

I know corn snakes go into season and out of season, but obviously some of them haven't read the Corn Snake Manual (mine haven't for sure).

I'm not berating, just don't think it's wise to house them together all of the time. Especially when you didn't want her to breed again and to gain weight after laying her first clutch.

Is it all that much trouble to house her in a sweater box of her own? They're like $5 at Wal-mart, and a few holes drilled in the sides for air, and you're good to go.
 
well,

it was only temperary,due to heat tape failure on my breeding rack. we had low night temps,and i didnt want them to get a respitory infection,while i was making their new setup.hers was the only available heated tank. i thought breeding season was over,but figured that even if it wasnt,it would be better to chance getting more babies than losing my breeder male to illness.she is still feeding good,and ill continue power feeding till she wont accept anymore.they will be seperated,so this does not happen in the future.

YOU COULD GIVE THE EGGS WITH GOOD INSTRUCTIONS TO SOMEONE WHO IS INTERESTED AND THAT YOU TRUST. sAM ~~~~~~:~
 
that wont be a problem.....

ive already made arrangements for the eggs,if she lays. it wont be for a little bit,by the time their laid,the others should already be hatched.the first clutch is due to hatch in less than 3 weeks. if the other eggs dont hatch before the new ones are laid,ill run down to the feed store and pick up another incubator.so,no worries:)
