I hate the stupid **** they try to push. May be an old show I haven't had tv in a bit. They are now saying the African rock pythons in Florida are going to breed with the berms and make a man eating supper snake... Who the hell wrights this crap The humain society and ther anty snake BS? I wish I had the money or resorces to launch an anti anti snake program and educational service.

Don't forget the Learning Channel (TLC), home of the Kardashians.

As a kid I use to LOVE Animal Planet and Discovery Channel. I mean I was obsessed with those shows. To this date I have seen every single documentary style show on dinosaurs or Ice Age animals and I use to obsess over shows about snakes and crocodiles. On my weekends I use to sit and watch Steve Irwin and Jeff Corwin talk about all sorts of really awesome snakes, lizards, amphibians, and mammals. When Steve Irwin died I was still rather young and I cried for a whole day (which contrasted with my parents who were much more upset about the recent passing of Michael Jackson).

Now the shows that are on these channels disgust me. Everything from Ice Road Truckers and Rattlesnake Republic and whatever other crap they're showing anymore. They've all started showing 24/7 reality TV garbage because that's what sells I guess :/ it's not like I understand though because I can't stand watching those programs. I just want the old channels back. And I want to see the end to all of these unscientific scare-tactic dramatized programs that neither educate or entertain me.

But I bet you are a BIG Honey Boo Boo fan!!! :fullauto:

When that show lasted longer than 3 episodes I felt all that was good and holy left television. It still irks me if my DVR has recorded the last few minutes of it before a show I want to see. Even in fast forward they are disgusting.

YES! Me too! Makes me die a little inside. I feel filthy just knowing such "programs" exist.

I haven't had cable tv for a couple of years now. Glad to know I'm not missing anything!

But I used to love Jeff Corwin's show. I liked Steve Irwin, too, but I didn't find him as entertaining.

We haven't had TV for almost 10 years now and boy am I glad.
I only really watch anime and cartoons, and I can get my fill of that on netflix, hulu, and streaming on the internet. It's cheaper that way anyways :p

Sadly, even I avoid it, the rest of the world is influenced by it. I had to stop talking to some of my closest friends after graduating High School because they became engulfed by TV culture, and I can't stand to be around that.

I hate shows about snakes... "You don't want that king snake living in your back yard where it is native and is natural pet control, okay, let me kill it for you because it's dangerous and will kill all your children and eat your cats"
Another thing I hate about those "educational" shows on snakes is that they tend to take the size of the largest recorded specimen and make it the average size for every single member of that species... when was the last time you saw a 30 foot burmese python or a 13 foot boa constrictor?
