I just got my first snake 2 days ago now should i feed it today or wait till tomorrow? It doesnt look like it has ate in about a week so what should i do?

any help at all would be great

Wait another day. This is definately better than having it refuse food and having to wait even more. Best of luck with your new snake!

thx

Thanks i appreciate the help. Im just trying to learn as much as i can so i dont kill my snake :). Thanks a lot

CONGRATULATIONS WITH YOUR NEW SNAKE

You should of got a little sheet from whoever you bought the snake from saying what days the snake has ate, shed and regugetated(if at all).

What morph is he???

Cheers

Alex

Alex you mentioned regurgitating, do they do that often? my son said he noticed our snake "thowing up", was he regugitating?

Regurgitating is when the snake doesn't keep down what it eats this can be because it's stressed, ill or the temps are too low. It's best not to handle snakes 24hrs before they eat and after too so they're settled. If it did regurge or you get any future ones don't feed it again for at least 10 days and leave it alone totally!!!!!

Regurgitating in a snake is a fair bit worse than just "throwing up" and is very stressful to the snake. A snakes digestive juices are very powerful and when it regurges a lot of this juice comes up with it causing discomfort for a few days which is why you mustnt feed it for a while. I think its called the ten day rule.

As rachel says , you need to find out why it regurged if possible and get it corrected.

Regurgitating isn't a common thing, but dont worry TOO MUCH if it happans, but if it does happan, tell us about it. I have been keeping snakes for about 6 months and I have 6 snakes and have never had one of my snake regurgitate.

What morph is your snake?

Alex
