omg help,hurry!!!!

my female i thought wasnt due for at least a few more weeks is laying her eggs right now! she already has 13 with more on the way! im so scared and excited,my heart is going to burst!i dont even have the incubator set up yet,im doing that now! ill keep you guys posted as we go,and send you pics when shes done i pray their fertile,they look good and white so far.what do i set the incubator for? please i need help asap!

Take a breath....

Firstly, don't get too upset, you might excite your girl with being frantic.

Set the incubator for about 82. It's a safe temp if the incubator is off by a few degrees at first.

Make sure your warm, damp medium is in the incubation
container(s).

Then just sit back and quietly watch her lay the rest of her eggs.
It's okay for the eggs to stay with her for the moment.

While this is going on, you can check your incubator a few times, and make sure it's coming up to proper temp..

Yes, of course it is best to have the incubator set up well in advance to see how the temps go, but you don't have that option available at this point.
And, if I recall how excited I was with my first clutch, you'll be checking that incubator a dozen times a day anyway.

And relax.....
Mother Nature is in control of the whole laying process right now.
You're just kickin' back with Father Time.

thanks,ive set the incubator and it seems to be at a steady 82 degrees,how do i remove the eggs? their all clumped together,she layed them on the bare plastic,i want to put them on a bed of moss,then halfway cover them,but i dont know how to move them without damaging them or turning or tilting them,please help!

Gently....

If they are all stuck together, and you don't want to try separating them, just prep the new bedding (I incubate in large-grain Vermiculite), set the container with the bedding very near her tank, then just slowly reach in and pick up the clump, and transfer them to their new 'bed'.

You can gently mark the top point of a few of the eggs with a pencil first, if you like, but, if they are laying on the bare plastic, they are probably already arranged so that there is a 'flat side' on the bottom of the clump.

Pick up from one spot, set down in another.

Actually, Corn Snake eggs are quite durable in some ways.

As long as you don't set them back down in a TOTALLY different way than they are now sitting, you're fine.

Just don't stress out the Mom. She might not be done laying.

i will try it as soon as shes done i tried to grab a stray one that was off to the side and she shoved my hand away,ill just wait till im sure shes done. she still looks like theirs maybe 2or3 left inside her,so i wont have to wait long ill keep ya guys posted

are slugs supposted to come out yellow, or turn yellow after being laid,or both? my cornsnake layed all white eggs,some are kind small,i thought maybe those were slugs,one is turning yellow,but only on one end.

Wait and see.... Incubate all of them, just in case. Infertile eggs or slugs usually are not attached when they come out, but that's not always the case. Just incubate it off to the side and watch them all. The eggs in the pic look good, don't worry!

she just layed egg number 26,she layed this one outside her nest box,then flicked it with her tail as she crawled away.i grabed it and kept it upright,and took it to the incubator.i hope its ok,i know your not supposed to turn or tilt reptile eggs,but try telling that to a snake it had just been laid,i thought that maybe because i took it right away,it might not be dead. but only time will tell i guess"sigh". i hope she passes her last egg ok,has anyone ever gotten 27 eggs from a first time breeding snake?

egg 27 finally passed ruby looks and acts so weak i am so worried about her. but than again she has been in labor all day.i guess id be tired to if i laid 27 eggs.

Also, turning the eggs is more of worry after they have settled. It just came out, not like it had been incubating for a few days, that egg will most likely hatch okay.

Okay, it looks like sevral of your eggs have 'dents' in them.
Normally, this means they are in serious need of hydration.

The humidity in the incubator should be as near 95% as possible.

My first instinct on these eggs (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) would be to mist a paper towel with water the same temp as the incubator, and lay it over the eggs to trap in some moisture.
Then, don't open the incubation boxes unless it's absolutely necessary. Are you keeping lids on the plastic boxes?

They look like good eggs otherwise, but you need to get the humidity up!!!

i have already tried this,i have also sprayed the dehydrated looking eggs with incubator temp water. they dont seem to be able to absorb it. some are even turning yellow. 1 has improved,but the rest havent changed. i am thinking they are infertile as they are turning yellow,and are soft and squishy,unlike the fertile looking eggs tht are firm and full.
