So far, it's not interested in feeding, but I'm trying everything I know, and will try everything I can find in these forums. There is some very useful information throughout them, and I'm very glad I ran across them. Thanks again, and please root for this little one to feed

Yes coming to this forum is really a lot of help.
If there are problems regarding anything that you want to know about, just come and drop down a note.
Since your little one was a tease feeder, give it a bit more time to settle down and try teasing it again. I have tons of these snakes that will not eat if you are near it. So maybe you can try a little deli cup and put it in a dark place where no one can disturb it. It might eat that way. If the deli cup thing doesn't work, try it with a brown paper bag....it works a lot of time.....
If not there are still lots of feeding methods for you to try. Just come up and post a new thread on it and lots of people will help you.

Thanks for the suggestions, Simon. He's been left alone for a couple of days now, and I'm going to try your paper bag suggestion this evening around dusk. Thanks a bunch for the tips and encouragement, everybody. After trying the deli cup and paper bag with no success, I decided to leave him be for a week or so in his little "carry pal" plastic cage. After 6 days, he eliminated, and that's when I thought he'd be ready. Sure enough, last night (Oct 7) I put a medium sized pinkie in with him and watched for a minute and then, left him alone. At 8:00pm EST (Oct 8th, 0100 GMT) he had the pinky nicely constricted and, finally, fed. Encouraged by that, I placed another, smaller pinkie in with him, and he took that one, as well. His name, considering the season, and his coloring, is Pumpkin (hey, he's my wife's first snake, lol) but for the moment, we're calling him "Lumpy" lol. It looks like the little guy will do well, and I thank you again for your suggestions James

A quick update for anyone interested in following this little guy's progress. Unfortunately, he regurgitated his first meal on the third day. After a few days, he became active and fed again on one pinky. Again, he regurgitated on the third day. Five days later, he had his first shed since I've had him. I waited 2 days, and offered another meal three days ago. Today, he has regurgitated yet again and, as usual, he is active and hunting for food. I will offer another meal today or tomorrow.

Once a snake regurges, you're supposed to wait a MINIMUM of 7 days with no handling. To be safe, I wait 10 days with any and all of my snakes that regurge.

I totally agree with Iris. Do the little critter a favor and don't feed him/her for a couple weeks. Make sure your temps are high enough and just let the little guy rest.
IMHO, regurges happen either because they are being handled too soon after eating, the temps are not high enough, or there is some sort of disease involved. You must give his stomach time to heal and for the digestive acids to build up again before allowing him to eat. At this point, with so many successive regurges, his little stomache needs a break.
He is quite a little cutie and will be just fine once you get over this hump!

His temps are usually 77F at one end of his enclosure, and 84F at the other, and I have not handled him except to clean his environment twice since the initial attempts at tease-feeding. As far as internal parasites, I have no way of knowing. The breeder is reputable, and is a vendor at the local monthly reptile shows here in South Florida. He is accessible and very friendly and helpful. Hopefully, with his help, and the help of the knowledgeable folks on this forum, this little baby will thrive. Thanks again.

Yeah, I caught that it had been 7 days, but after a sequence of regurge, waiting 10-14 days is probably a good idea. I will keep my fingers crossed that he keeps this one down
How big is the enclouse? If its small, you may actually need to drop the temps a little or at least offer a bigger range. Mine seem to do really well with temps in the low 70's at one end and a nice warm area in the mid 80's where they hang out to digest. I have seen regurges with both low and high temps.
I would really not suspect parasites except as a very last resort. I have had a few snakes over the years that had a really bad span of reguritation and I finallay had to just leave them alone for a while, make sure the temps were within the range that I now keep them all in, and wait it out. I have never (knock wood) had one not recover.
