over weight male

I finally got back my original kids back (the first corn snakes I helped raise and care for). I'm noticing that the male is very wide and a lot bigger than the female. I weighed him and he weighed 1016 grams. He was purchased in 2007 and he was about 3 months old when bought.

Does he weight to much? I mean he is huge compared to my male snow who is around the same age. He got chunky too but I lowered his food. I am going to do the same for this male too. Any advice?

Yeah I'm sorry I'm all late with the responses. He would get a Large Rat every two weeks. I'll post a picture tomorrow. It's kinda cold here and I don't want to take him out of his warm hide and expose him to the chill.

A large rat?! Holy smokes, my 6 foot + boa eats large rats maybe once a month (he's on a feeding strike right now) and they leave a sizable lump. I'm looking forward to pics of this monstrous cornsnake!

My ex wasn't that great about judging food for the snakes. He just like telling my people they ate large rats. I didn't like that idea but I wasn't caring for them. I am now and they are going to be treated better and given what they need to live a long healthy life.

Surprised it kept a large rat down. Just like AliCat, my ~5ft boa just moved up to large rats.

I'm surprised too. It's been 2 years since I had them with me so I don't know what has been done to them or what they have been fed. I'm just hoping I can bring his weight down. I'm worried for him.
