It is, it's a hybrid and my one Igor is my misshapen pride and joy! I have a very tasteful SOuth American tank withone of those monsters lording it over the tetras and angelfish!
I used to be into SA cichlids (but didn't have one of those) and then changed to Malawi and Tanganyikan (separate tanks). I like all three. The Tanganyikans remind me of snakes.
I'm setting up a Cichlid tank right now! I started a 55 running on Monday. I plan on doing Africans. I've always enjoyed Cichlids. I always liked the Parrots, but usually they're injected with dye and the colors don't last. That Fish Place had some awesome hard to find Africans last weekend (price tag wasn't so awesome).
If you want a parrot, go with one that is colored like this one. That's the natural color. Stay away from the ones labeled "painted parrot". The "blood red" (really more of an orange overall) are the ones that are naturally colored.
