The Plastic American
Back in Pueblo there was a pet store where I would go get mice. The guy who ran it was extremely knowledgeable and him and his daughter really cared for their animals. So yesterday when driving home from work I was excited to see a little mom and pop pet store a few blocks from my new apartment with a sign saying they specialized in fish and reptiles. So I just walked over there. And the guy working is sitting outside smoking a cigarette so I'm browsing and notice a retic in a fifteen gallon viv. I don't really know about how they shed it looked like it was having a horrible time. I thought it was a baby. Then I noticed they wanted 100 dollars for normal beardy babies and their fish room was in no way adequate to keep the temps right. There was like a three inch gap under the door with daylight dining through it. This is the mountains man! Those fish are all going to freeze in like three months.
Back to the retic baby. The guy comes back in and I ask him how old it is and he tells me 3 years. 3 years! The poor thing looked barely six feet long. I'm amazed it's alive. So if anyone in the four corners area is looking for a retic please save this guy.
