Peta's "Reasons to go Vegetarian"

To answer an earlier question, the Humane Society of the U.S. does NOT support local shelters, although they don't do anything to dispell the myth that much of their money DOES help the dogs and cats all over the US. When we first heard about it, we called our local humane society here in Ft. Myers to ask if they received any financial support from the national group and they stated that they do not. Just call your own local group if you want to check.

The humaniacs (of all the various organizations) are really good at their game. Even though their agenda is to stop ALL use of animals, even eventually banning the breeding of all companion animals such as cats and dogs, they are careful not to mention that in their solicitation brochures, since many of their donations come from unsuspecting dog and cat lovers who think they are helping to save abandoned pets. Be sure to let everyone who may be conned into donating to them know exactly what their money is going for!!

There was a pretty famous case once where some big port city (New York? can't remember now) had a huge rat problem on the wharfs. Well, a bunch of domestic cats gone feral moved in, and they had their little self sustaining ecosystem going on there. The cats weren't abandoned or anything, they were born in the wilds of the docks and that's where they lived.

Anyway, the HSUS threw a big deal about all the "poor starving abandoned pet kitties" and people gave them thousands of dollars to help the cats. When people asked about whether the money would go to help the cats, they never said no...

Anyway, some good Samaritans noticed that the HSUS had just raised thousands of dollars for the cats, but the cats were getting no help whatsoever. Thinking it was an issue of physically getting their hands on the cats, these people went out and live trapped several hundred, which they then drove to the HSUS headquarters so the cats could benefit from that nice juicy aid people had donated for them.

Needless to say, the HSUS was not impressed, and euthanized every last one of those cats. You'll never hear an animal rights activist talk about incidents like that.

That's funny, my dad used to work at a shipyard where they caught the stray cats and spayed and neutered (sp?) them and then released them back into the shipyard to eat the rats and mice.
It certainly wasn't done by the HSUS though.

that artical on the ELF/ALF/PITA was great.... its about time they got cracked down on!

I myself eat meat.... i eat lots of meat.... i love meat.... dont get me started on the danger of soy meat substitutes!

I personally dislike the people that insist on making the carnivorous among us feel wrong for our eating habits. I love animals, I dont think i could eat an animal i knew and had raised, but at the same point, ive live fed my snakes, and routinely "execute" mice as food.

Ahh.. PeTA.. I read before in this thread that PeTA was somewhat cult-like.
cult n.

1.
1. A religion or religious sect generally considered to be extremist or false, with its followers often living in an unconventional manner under the guidance of an authoritarian, charismatic leader.
2. The followers of such a religion or sect.
2. A system or community of religious worship and ritual.
3. The formal means of expressing religious reverence; religious ceremony and ritual.
4. A usually nonscientific method or regimen claimed by its originator to have exclusive or exceptional power in curing a particular disease.
5.
1. Obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing.
2. The object of such devotion.
6. An exclusive group of persons sharing an esoteric, usually artistic or intellectual interest.

PeTA, by direct definition of the word, IS a cult. You'll have to excuse my poor memory, for specific terms don't stick too well, but general concepts do. In taking a class on Anthropology: Magic, Witchcraft and the Occult at a Community College here, we covered a brief section on cult mentality. The structure of a cult usually involves what we call "True Believers" at the bottom. These TB's yearn for something to latch onto. Typically, the specifics of their cause/religion don't matter, but sometimes they do. A great example of a time when it mattered was Nazi Germany. Not every German citizen was a TB persay, but everyone was looking for an answer, and a scapegoat. If anyone is a Nazi, it's PeTA.

The leaders of such cults are typically MUCH smarter than their followers (big surprise huh? Almost is, considering the leaders are still members of PeTA). The heads of PeTA know exactly what is going on, and I won't be one bit surprised if they orchestrate much of the terrorist action, but, unfortunately, they are smart enough to stay on one side of the law.. in most cases anyway. I feel sorry for the TB's that found PeTA's cause before they found anything else to believe in, for they are merely puppets, or more related to this particular case, sheep if you will ;). A TB really has something wrong with their mind, to have to hold on to something so tightly to feel as though they belong.

Another great example of TB'ism are the extreme Islamics, the Taliban. Their culture right now is experiencing a type of cultural/religious extinction.. to survive this, they must adapt or fight, and they chose to fight. This has happened many, many times over history. So, you ask, am I compairing PeTA to Nazi's and Terrorists? Yes, I am. They are not experiencing a cultural extinction, but instead, in a way, are trying to make their own, IMO. In order to make their own, and be successful to the point that they are happy, they need to drive other, contradictory, cultures into extinction. In this, I am basically saying that they are saying "Our way or the highway because we are right!" The message between the lines? As with most everything else, it's about power. Control over the masses, and having everything their way :)

What the poor PeTA TB's don't usually know is that PeTA has bought a giant freezer and used it as a tax write off. Can you all guess what they use this freezer for..? No, it's not to store mass amounts of carrots for the apocalypse when god smashes all the meat-eaters... They euthanise THOUSANDS of cats and dogs each and every year because, by their own admittance, it's more cost effective that way. Not by their own admittance, is that they have to free up money to buy firebombs and pay their terrorist agents. Seriously.

PeTA also uses tactics that we see in cigarette company's and many other 'evil' organizations.. they target children. This is also by their own admittance. They aim mostly for kids in kindergarten, and work up from there. They say things like "Your Mommy Is A Murderer!" and such, because she makes them drink milk. I don't know about you, but if I had a 5 year old come home from school and list that I'm a murder as one of his reasons for not drinking his milk, there would be some black and blue PeTA b****es the next day...

Anyway, the fact of the matter is, as was said before, they are indeed dangerous. They target our children and bomb our buildings. Unfortunately, the conclusion to our cult mentality lesson was that it takes an extremist to fight an extremist. You have to feel passionately enough about what you're fighting for, or eventually you will be swallowed up in the madness. And it is madness. I fight passionatly about the truth, and my right to keep (and eat) animals. I personally enjoy going on the PeTA 2 message boards and informing them of PeTAs latest horrifying actions. I think I've reached a few people :)... Anyway, some nifty sites are listed below if you want to check them out, along with PeTA 2 message boards :) Have fun!

Just a quick story.. in going to the circus we got to see some lovely PeTA demonstrators outside. I walked up to one and let her tell her tale, beginning to end, and get all into it and excited... I then said, "Nah, I don't need a pamplet, I f***ing hate you PeTA sheep" smiled my sweetest smile at the dumbfounded PeTA girl, and proceded to walk into the Circus... Not to say I was right or wrong, but it certainly felt good.... :)

I need to buy that shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol :roflmao:

:-offtopic nice to know I can rely on my avatar to distinguish me from everyone else... oh wait...

This also reminds me of a stand up done by Dennis Leary on his "No Cure for Cancer" video....

"Here is the problem with today's society... we only want to save the cute animals:"

"What are you?"
"I'm an otter."
"And what do you do?"
"I swim around on my back and do cute little human things with my hands."
"Ok, you're free to go."

"What are you?"
"I'm a cow."
"GET ON THE BUS."
"But I'm an animal, I have rights!"
"You're a good night out and a wallet. You don't have rights, get on the f****** bus!"

"And here's my favorite one:"

"Don't buy the tuna! Don't support it!"
"Why not?"
"Because dolphins are getting stuck in the nets!"
"Well, what about the tuna?"
"Oh screw them, they taste good. "

Me being stupid signed off the rights to my spider tat, and now I see on the walls at tattoo shops all the time. Guess that's what I get for helping the shop advertise...
