I was at petco on Tuesday buying things for my dog, and I always look at the corn snakes. On Tuesday, I spotted what appeared to be a blood red in the cage. Well, I was at the check out lane and used my Pals card, and what do you know- I got a coupon for 50% off any live reptile. So today, I went back to look at that blood red. Upon arrival, I could see that there were two bloods in the cage, a few normals, and an anery, plus whatever was hiding under the aspen and the little hide in there. So I got an associate to open the cage, and when he picked up the hide and started to move the baby pile, two REALLY nice blood reds appeared. And the guy was like "Usually we don't get so many of the same color", and I told him I had my eye on one, so he let me pick up the two really nice ones, and I was so tempted to take them both home. As far as I could tell, there was a male and a female, but I decided to take the little girl home. With my coupon, she was only $24. I'd say that is a good $24 spent!

She just stuck out from the rest, and I simply love her.

So here is my new little girl (I hope anyway, considering last time I got a petco snake, she turned into a he after two years).

Lucky. All my pet stores get are snows, amels, normals, and something gray that is in between an anery and a ghost. :( Very pretty snake! It's so pretty, and the red is fantastic.

I look at Petco all the time, ya never know what youll find and If I find something I want there, I consider it as I am rescuing an animal from there.

That is a gorgeous animal, my Petco never has anything like that beauty.
 
Nice blood !! Good deal!
I try to get into the local Petco every time they have a 50% off reptile sale.
They had a bunch of whites tree frogs for half price which was already at what the wholesalers were selling them for. I Picked up a bunch of them and a Brazilian rainbow boa also. The boa was less than the last one we bought a show.
3 months later all are doing well. This Petco does a good job (except for co-habituating baby snakes) with their animals. :santa:

Oh Ya.... Two 50% off deals I missed out on were a baby green tree python for $150 (reg. $300) and A frilled lizard for $80 (reg. $179) :(

Yes they do.....

I have a Petsmart story and its very recent, I was in my local Petsmart and they had an awesome Calif King, I asked to see him and the kid was too scared to take him out, so we asked another employee and I got the same response, long story short, I couldn't get anyone to handle the snake for me.

Whenever I go to the petsmart, they have only snows, classics and amels. PJ's pet centre's have some nice ones though, last time I went they had a couple of butters. It really all comes down to what the breeders send them when they order a lot of fancies. Occasionally they'll be sent some nicer morphs.
 
Argh she is a he! Now that he has had time to settle in for a few hours I popped him again and definitely all boy >.>
Oh well, still happy with my $24 spent.

I've found a few bloodred, a lavender and a caramel blood at the petsmarts out here before. I even sexed the caramel blood and the snow that was in the tank with it because the employee that was there wondered what they were. Never bought any of them though.

Sweet find. Congrats! As with many others, our chain pet stores almost always have normals and amels.

LOL I didn't want to freak the guy out and pop the snake right there! If it was my friend working, I totally would have because he knows that I know what I'm doing and wont break the snake haha.
