The hide is the paper towel. He spends most of his time under there.
Yeah mine hide under anything EXCEPT the fancy hides that I buy them.

they are just clips I picked up at dollar general. they arent too secure, but since the handles on my tubs keep them nice and tight, I dont worry. these just hold the edges of the tub and lid together so there isnt a gap there, but I can still lift the lid off easily even with them on. I havent had any problems with escapes yet though.
if you want something really secure, metal binder clips work well.

This nothing but a homemade melamine rack with 50 shoeboxes in it, back-heated with Flexwatt on a thermostat. The ones with an index card are either very valuable or fussy feeders, so those have all the feed/shed info and dates on them. I have a Rolodex with every hatchling's numbered feed/shed records, but the special/struggling ones I need to look at before thawing anything. The empty slots are partially being cleaned, partially being brumated and hoping for a better spring. FWIW, this is an older pic, but looks pretty much identical now unless you open the drawers!
Others go in shoeboxes in the snake room (kept at 80F) or even deli cups with nothing but aspen and a water dish. I keep my cages pretty darn dry until I see signs of an upcoming shed, at which point I put a clump of wet sphagnum in until the shed is done. I don't bother with that after they reach 6 months or so.
For yours, you can go as simple as newspaper and a water dish, or as extravagant as some pictured by the previous members.

Nah, it's really basic and cheap. I think it was about $100 + the flexwatt and thermostat. Maybe took two hours to make all the cuts and build, but that was because I was being a bit picky. It took almost as long to drag it into the house and wire the heat tape! There's a blueprint for this idea on arbreptiles.com, you don't have to burn a lot of calories to make something like this. One thing I would change is that I would put some heavyweight casters or wheels on it if I could do it over! If they didn't weigh a ton, I'd love to make 'em and sell them. There really is nothing to it if you have a drill, table saw, chop saw, and a handful of drywall screws. I solder the flexwatt instead of use clips, but either method works.
This is the rack I made for our hatchlings. It's going to be replaced relatively soon by a sweaterbox rack, but it has served them well since August.
I don't own a saw so it was made using precut melamine shelving, which is why there is some space at one end. I actually kind of like that though, since it gives me space to store stuff (like their deli cups they still get fed in).
The tubs themselves are set up in a very basic manner. They have 1-2 inches of aspen, a 2 inch PVC end cap with water in it, and a toilet roll or two for hides for the couple who prefer hides to burrowing in the aspen. They have Flexwatt back heat in the form of a single 11" piece running up the back, so they have temps in the mid 80's in one corner and down to ~72 at the far corner. I don't worry about giving them extra humidity, even at shed time, because they have never had a bad shed in this setup. And also because most of them manage to go through blue without me ever noticing, despite the fact that I check on them or handle them every 1-2 days.
The tank on top has a couple of barking tree frogs in it. It's been revamped a bit to have some more cover (fake leaves).
