Pictures from the Tampa Show

Around Here Somewhere....
I took a whole lot of photos at the show today. Some turned out pretty good, others not so well. This is going to take a few replies to get them all posted so please be patient.

Chondro:

Panther Chameleon - this guys colors were soooo vivid. But he decided to stop moving at the top of the cage where the light wasn't as good so it came out darker than I would have liked:
IMG_0352.jpg

Satanic Leaftail Geckos - I have seriously considered getting some of these but a lot of the research about them advises they are quite fragile. I thought about cropping this photo down to just focus on one, but decided it was pretty cool with them blending in throughout the photo. How many do you see?

Albino Sonoran Gophers:

I don't remember what this next gecko is called. I want to say Giant Mossy Leaftail but I could be wrong. They were HUGE for a gecko. This shot isn't the greatest, focus isn't what I really wanted, but I still think it is kinda cool. He looks kinda evil:

Day Gecko - I love how bright these guys are:

Barron's Rat Snake - one pretty cool looking snake and out of my price range:

Piebald Ball Python:
IMG_0384.jpg

Not sure what kind of snake this one was but he was very cooperative for a photo:

And a gratuitous Bearded Dragon shot - I do think these little guys are cute:

And of course the people pictures!!

Craig and Lisa:

Group shot from lunch (the guy in orange in the back is Joe):

And of course Chris and friend working Gino's Lost World Reptiles booth at the show:

It was a lot of fun as it always is when we all get together. Next show is in April at the Sundome. If nothing else I am sure Joe and I will go to get feeders.

Thank the Maker...

I didn't break your new camera!
Lisa sends you a big high five on the Bulls pic. They were pretty.
Did you get the albino iguanas?

And one with Katie...

Similiar pic but we finally got Katie in one...

Baroni! What do they go for in the states?

Barons rat snake is not the correct name for them... The only time I have seen baron used to describe them is in Barons green racer, but thats not commonly used either. People just call them baroni or Argentine longnose racers.

I'm going to have to institute the no pictures policy!

I love the chameleon pic.

Still trying to figure out what those weird python guys were.

Thanks Elle. I had never seen one before so had no idea what it was. Bugger was moving so much I had to turn on the flash to get a half decent pic.
He was selling for $450USD.

Its just a sweetpea snake :)

And 450 is far too expensive. Sweetpea and the male were £70 each here... They are cheaper in europe as its the dutch and german breeders who work with them mostly.

They are lighting fast, very active snakes!

Haha. Great pictures. The snake whose indentity you weren't sure of, could he be a carpet python of some description? :shrugs:

For the record, IMO the whole "how much should I pay for a snake" thing is all very hypothetical... it's worth as much as someone wants to pay for it. :)

No, I know exactly what a Carpet Python looks like- that's the snake above that Katie wasn't sure of. Actually, look at the two Gophers- they looked, in coloration, very much like the mystery snakes, except mystery snakes were much bigger and heads more developed/wider/chunkier. I don't know. Next time I'll take a picture.

Mike- it was those two weird snakes that I asked you about but you were like- I don't do boids- (so that rules out Gophers, then, doesn't it...) I think they were in the row with all the cool geckos, at the far right end.

Hmmm.

Maybe Scrub Pythons- that's the closest thing Elle could come up with. I looked at some more pics today- maybe that's them.

Looks like a bunch of fun...I just couldn't get away from the family this trip. Maybe next Tampa show in April?

Great photos Katie. :) Looks like you guys had a great time.

And you look lovely in those photos, Nanci. I like the pigtails. :) But I don't know about Craig, Mike, and Joe. Wouldn't want that motley crew to show up unannounced on a dark and stormy night (*shivers*). :grin01:

I look like I was up till 12:30 the night before because I don't sleep any more, except for one scary moment in the truck driving home!!! :eek1: :eek1: :eek1: But I appreciate the sentiment!

It was a lot of fun. I really enjoy getting together with everyone and having a good time.

Jeff - it was a bummer you couldn't make it. I imagine we will probably go to the April show if for no other reason than to buy feeder mice. If anyone else wants to meet up again and do lunch that would be great.

That one python that I didn't know what it was didn't have anything on its tank other than a SOLD sign so your guess is as good as mine!

And I know we talked a little yesterday about setting up another trip to the Serpentarium. I think I will start a new thread about that so we can figure out who is available when. I really want to go back, especially now that I have a new camera!!
