WOW.

I mentioned one other time that the automated reply emails never work right for me. Here's another good example of that... the last time I looked at this thread there had been like 10 views and no replies... I've still yet to get an email about any replies...lol. Thanks for everyone's input though! I posted this same thing on a few other forums and have gotten over 200 replies so far. I'm glad I did this too, because some of the ones I thought were going to do real well (that I really liked) are doing terribly (my favorite has 4 votes right now...lol). #6 is really taking quite a lead though, and I had it printed last night, then I matted it and framed it this afternoon (Mondays and Tuesdays are my weekend, so I have that kind of free time early in the week whenever everybody else is mad about going back to work :)). I'm happy to say that it came out much better than I expected. Hopefully the shows go well. Thanks again!!

They're all very nice Jeff. You need to start looking into animal photography; by "animal" I mean reptiles and by "photography" I mean post them here for us to oogle. I for one am "shutter challenged". ;)

Gary, I appreciate the feedback. I actually have a LOT of wildlife photography, but none of it made my final cut. Part of it is because I can't really see anyone being interested in buying them. I'm actually working on a project of my own this summer. I'm trying to get all of the herps native to my area on camera...no real reason, just to see if I can do it. There are a few very rare reptiles around here, so it's going to be fun, and quite a challenge I think. The only snake photos I have so far are of a garter snake and a water snake (which bit me, my camera, and my cousin in the process of trying to get it to hold still for a few seconds...lol). Even at that, I don't know if there's an appropriate place to post any of them on this forum since it's not cornsnake related. If there is, let me know and I'd be glad to post anything anyone wants to see. If you're looking for any in particular, the herps I have so far are: snapping, map, and painted turtles; northern water and garter snakes; long-tailed, northern slimy, two-lined, and red backed salamanders...plus a whole host of other wildlife stuff. Thanks again!

Also, since I can't edit my posts and I'm still reading through everybody's replies, I'm sorry if I make a bunch of posts to different people in a row...I know it annoys me when other people do it....lol

You have some awesome talent there, you need to freelance! :)

Jen, thanks for the input! I've gotten some stuff published by the International Library of Photography over the past few years, and I'm working on an article for Pennsylvania Magazine right now. But I'm always looking for more opportunities, so if you know of any, send me a PM! :)

#9 has an almost creepy undertone, like waiting for the bats to come out
That's one of my favorites too. And I'm still trying my hardest to get bats in a shot, but that particular one was about 5:30 in the morning...the bats were just going to bed! someday I'll get one on camera though. Thanks for the feedback!

Oops, I'm sorry

I was on the bugs thread and jumped to this thread through a link and didn't make it all the way back to the bug thread to post my pics.
Sorry about that.
Unfortunately I can not move, edit or delete the post.

LMAO, that's no problem Jimmy, I was just curious to see who ressurected this thing... And as a side note, a dozen of my photos are being featured at a local festival for a week in early August, so I'm happy :). And again, thanks to everyone who helped me out on this thread!

when you find the comps out there can ya send me a link Jeff as its also one of my past times (and im kinda intrigued as to what people will think! lol), very nice work and could easily compete!

your photos

That is great!
You have some excellent photographs and they deserve to be shown.
congrats
and once again...sorry for posting my beetle on your thread.

Dunno if anyone cares or not, but I took the results of my little poll on here and sent some of the photos to a local library. They gave me a call about a week later and asked if I'd be interested in putting up a series to be featured during a community festival that's coming up pretty soon.

The festival is this coming weekend, but the photos go up tomorrow and will be up until next Tuesday. Pretty much what it amounts to is 9 local photos, plus one of myself on the "about the photographer" page that they asked me to write up for it. I'm the only photographer with anything there, so who knows, maybe I'll get a sale or two out of it. But anyway, I thought maybe you guys and gals might like to know that your opinions did help me in deciding what to use... thanks again!

If anyone's curious, these are the 9 I'm displaying this week. Some of them aren't from the original group that I asked about in this thread, but that's just because I've taken so many since then. I passed the 1000 picture mark (since May when I got the camera I'm using now) a couple of weeks ago, so I've probably taken twice that many because I delete a whole lot of them that don't come out how I want.

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Great pictures!

Wow, those are beautiful pictures! I really like the one of the fish. Thanks for sharing! :)

Sweet pics! Very relaxing......whers the one of a fish?

Thanks, and that's what I'm wondering too :shrugs:

Maybe that one of the Map Turtle kinda looks like a fish if you don't click it and just look at the thumbnail? I dunno, that's the closest thing to a fish I can find.

The only other thing might be that in one of my other albums (that you can get to from the one I linked) does have a couple of b&w pictures of a fish in it, so maybe that's what they're talking about... but still ----> :shrugs:

nope, sorry... what fish picture are you looking at? because unless you're looking at a different gallery than the one I linked, I'm completely lost...lol

ohhhhh unless you clicked the link in my signature and went to my main gallery.... that would make sense then

Thanks, I ended up going with 6,8,9,and 13 plus 5 others for one display, and 1,2,6,and 9 for one competition.
