Wow, i bet he's going to be feeling that one for a while!

Glad the problems sorted now Elle.

On the point about experience and (I assume reputation points?) Thats all relative to how much the user posts... You can have someone who has years of experience but if they only make an appearance once every few weeks they're not going to get many rep points...

For what its worth i have 151 "Reputation points"... But i've got less than two months experience with snakes... hell i'm only just picking up the basics and any advice i do give to people is just parroting what's been told to me!. Most of my points come from corny (See what i did that?) jokes..! So i guess in this instance at least points don't make prizes. :)

I've spoken to Joel and Mike quite a few times and found them to be very knowledgeable and pleasant.

I don't think in this case the problem was down to bad husbandry.. Most just the snake having a bit of an unfortunate problem with Digesting.

I'm not sure if I had waited if he would pass it himself. I didn't want to wait... that was 4 days after a meal and he still hadn't pooped plus the lump was lodged rich at his cloaca. It's done now and I am sure he will be just fine. But I would love to know why it happened.

The reputation system is for friends who like to rep each other. It simply does not have anything to do with how much experience you have or how qualified you are to give out advice. If you ask me, it's an extremely misleading system.

I am glad to see you got that thing out of him. It was probably horribly uncomfortable! I bet he feels much better now!

Misleading Perhaps, Misused? Definitely!. I very rarely give out rep points (Mostly because whilst reading posts i forget about the system, this being the only forum i'm routinely on that uses it.)

However, When i do give out reputation points, With the exception of one or two funnys usually pertaining to the trolls - its usually only for well thought out and informative posts.

Either way its neither here nor there.

Do you have any theory's on why the calcium build-up occurred?

Perhaps because for the last few weeks he has been eating multiple fuzzies and small mice as I ran out of adults so I fed him 2 large fuzzy rats. His biggest meal to date actually... Yep I pushed his limits me thinks.

Joel, I am not in the mood to be polite yet again. I appreciate the suggestions and attempts at "fixing" my husbandry but what you have suggested or said is already very clear to me.

I do not know what the problem is with Noir, which is why I asked for advice or opinions. Experienced opinions would be far more benfitial when it comes to health issues... I was not feeding less more often, I was feeding more LESS often as clearly stated.

I do feed on substrate... kitchen towel.

This shows how narrow minded you are, making judgments .......By the way.....Why did you sell those Florida indigos.:eek1:

Joel, I do NOT appreciate snarky remarks and blatantly obvious agendas in my thread. Please refrain from doing so in the future.

And for your information sunny, I have never owned florida indigos in my life, nor have I ever claimed to. My partner has owned and bred them in the past.

Oooooo...I have the convo saved Elle, where you claimed you have ownd and bred there......how they need Not so big cages...etc etc......THE PAST WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU.

Pm me this please... no infact, print a screen shot and send it to me as I do not believe you. I have spoke on behalf of my partner about his florida indigos once before publically, when someone asked what kind of cage requirements they needed. I replied in saying they DO need a lot of room. Florida indigos are huge snakes and my partner housed his in 6x3x2 cages which was slightly unnecessary but they needed that sort of room to breed and be content.

I will say this once more Joel, please do not converse with me or mention my name without proper due. I am simply not interested in your wee boy babblings.

I was there when that convo took place as well.. But joel was using the name Kevin and said he was 47. Funny how a 47 yr olds advice is valid but a 14 yr olds is just kids talk...

I don't want to hi-jack this thread and I tried to be nice in last nights pm's but you made it plain to me how you view all of us (not just me and Joel , all the reptile forum users)
I'm glad your snake is well and I won't give you any advice again if that will help smooth things over.. I'll tell Joel the same.. and he can delete the convo he had with you
MIKE

Enough, Joel. Things might be different if you hadn't posted that nasty post for which you were suspended not all that long ago. But you did, and for me, it colors all of your replies to Elle since. I think it would be best for you to refrain from replying in Elle's threads. It's only a suggestion, but one that could preserve your membership here.

It's already been sorted Dean

How convienent Mike. This it the last time I will engage with you publically in this sort of nonsence. I do not think you have any right whatsoever to say I have generalised the whole reptile community. That is a million miles from the truth.

I would appreciate if you kept your thoughts and feelings to PM only if you really find it a dire necessity to nit pick!

Well.... this has certainly gone somewhat astray...

So, pulling the thread back on topic, briefly, if nobody minds terribly...

Elle - I'm thinking it was probably a combination of a few things. Multiple prey might have a higher total volume of bone/teeth to digest. Noir might not have had as many sips of water has he usually does and got a 'dry spot' along his system, which just happened to have stuff there that would dry up and form a stone. Might have been specifically due to the rats. Might have been something completely different. One of those things. Personally, it looked to me from the picture to not be seriously large, so it prolly would have passed by itself sooner or later. But I think it better than you were there, as if there had been a prolapse, you could have helped it back in before it began to swell, at which point... well, been there, made the vet's car payment.
