Possible Viv location?

I'm trying to figure out where to put my first Viv. My girlfriend is not big on snakes so I was thinking this would be a nice location in terms of covering it up when she's around. I was thinking I could pull the middle shelf and that would give me about 2 feet for height, almost 3 feet for length and 15 inches for depth. I can also pull the lower shelf and dividers and get over 3 feet. The only thing I'm kinda worried about is with a UTH and closing the doors, will it get too hot in there? Will the UTH burn up being on the wood with little/no ventilation? Is the wood going change humidity drastically? Not sure if this would make things more difficult then it needs to be.

The uth won't burn anything if you have it on a thermostat. Unless it malfunctions, but there is always a chance of that.

If I keep the doors closed for an extended period of time should I plan on putting some lights, not heat lamps, in there on a timer?

If you say the middle shelf if 15 inches deep and the width is at least 30 inches, I would just suggest you put a 20 long aquarium in there. Glass is easiest. Wood may be more customizable, but can get mildewy, can absorb feces, is more difficult to clean, plus it's a bigger fire risk for heat pad or heat lamp.

Yeah I've always stuck to glass aquariums for those reasons. Unless maybe you tiled the whole thing or used some of that foam type background (very expensive) on all sides and tiled the bottom. However in my opinion it's a lot of work for something if you're going to close the shutters on it regularly.
