I was following this pretty closely too. I expect that the interstate travel ban will be lifted permanently...it's pretty obvious that USFWS never had the power to ban it.

Yeah, and as we all know now the USFWS has shown the world how shady, corrupt, and cut throat they really are ;)

This is pretty much SOP for nearly ALL government agencies. They all take on a life of their own, and find that they enjoy the power and money, and just want more and more of both. It's that "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" thing on steroids.

Well, I had been thinking about it. After some independent research and reading their whole site, I joined USARK. It's the best way I can think of to support their efforts on the behalf of responsible reptile owners and breeders.

Yes I agree! I also started using SYR for shipping. They have an option when you buy the shipping label to donate to USARK in different amounts .50, $1.00, $2.00 $100 whatever amount you wish. I thought that was pretty cool.

Do you think they'll lift the ban on Burms also, or just the new species added recently?
 
The preliminary injunction will lift the ban on retics/anacondas until the case has been ruled on. The injunction has been granted but the specifics won't be known until the 18th. But if I understand correctly, if the final ruling is in our favor that USFWS doesn't have the authority to regulate interstate transport, then all of the listed constrictor snakes including Burms can cross state lines again. The mere fact that we got the injunction makes it highly likely that this judge will rule in our favor, but it can always be overturned on appeal, which is the route that I'm sure USFWS will take.
