These two guys fed again today....They're not the easiest snakes to get going.
The female is still an assist feed, (quite normal for Boiga) she has to be started. Use the nose of the pinkie to open the snakes mouth, it then latches on and envenomates, then put it down very carefully. Picking it up for the second pinkie is an art in it self, so as not to cause a regurg......But it is possible as it's the only way. We have a lot of experience of assist feeding, so it's not like we are new to this....LOL. The male has caught on to what it needs to do, just pop two pinks in it's feeding tub and cover it over. When you go back later they are gone. It won't be long before the female catches on and the assist feeds will be a thing of the past. (Until we breed them, but we will be selling on after the assist feed period hopefully..)
I really need to start the progression thread on these two as they have settled in and are feeding, which is always the worry with new Boiga cyanea.
The thing that still amazes me is how the hell a pink can fit down that neck, it's so thin........
