Pygmy Corns?

Does any one know how big the smallest "adult" corn would be? The reason I ask is because I have a female pink and green snow who is 3+ years old and has already laid eggs, but she's only about 18-20 inches long. I'll try and get pics later so you can see how small she is.

Are you sure she's that old??? Most 6 month olds are that size or longer. In either case, she shouldn't have been bred at that size, the risk of egg binding and other problems is pretty high.

What are you feeding her? She really should be bigger and maybe she could handle larger food items. Is there any way you can post a picture with something for size reference?

I have a picture of her with a dollar bill on my camera. I just have to find the cable to get it onto the comp. She eats 2 med-large sized adult mice every week so I don't think it's her diet. I'll go find the cale for the camera right now and post the pics.

heres a pic I took this morning of her w/ a dollar bil for comparison.

Just a big guess here but she looks like a good five dollors long (2 1/2 feet).
Ten or so inchs longer than you posted.

Just my thoughts :)

Well I just measured her to double check and she came out just a hair under 22 inches which is bigger than I thought but still smaller than what I think the average 3 year old corn would be.

By the looks of those pictures...I still don't think she is under 22". A dollar bill is 6" and it looks like she could fit a good 5 dollars along her back. What did you use to measure her with?

:shrugs:

I used the picture and measured her with my serpwidgets program and she's about 29" long. Still small for a 3 year old, but obviously old enough to ovulate.

I measured her with measuring tape and I don't know how that could have gotten mixed up but...
They don't hold still. Not nearly long enough to use that, or they slither along the tape giving a false reading.

Yes I try the measuring tape too, it didn't work well for me. I then try a yard stick. The snake would, with help, crawl along the stick, going stright at one point. And make a mark someway Still hard. I was thinking of putting him in a tube. But I don't need to know that bad..

Those pictures are not from up above, so therefore it's skewed.

No way in hell is that snake only 22" long. I'd guess over 30".

Go to www.serpwidgets.com and click on apps, and download the program and take an overhead picture and then measure.
