ok um i no it says dont remove and stuff after u stick it to the bottem. but has any 1 removed it and it still worked sucessfully? or is it f realy bad idea and a waste of money

I've never removed one personally, but I've tried it and it's really tough. My answer to that was to just buy another corn to put in that tank!!!!! LOL You will find out they are extremely addictive!

easy for u to do im 15 and jobless so i gotta do things the cheap way cause spending anouther 20 bucks on an under heater for a 20 gallon is roughly exspinsive for me cause i olny get 10 bucks a month from my mom

I don't really like the stick-on UTH's. The one I originally bought was a Cobra that I could stick on myself with some tape (just as long as you're careful about not sticking the tape on the heated area). But since we used a larger tank after all, we had to get a larger mat, and the only ones in the area were the stick-on sort.

What we did was remove the backing to the sticky stuff, laid a sheet of aluminum foil onto the sticky side, and carefully smoothed it on. Then we trimmed the excess from around the mat, and there you go. We have the 10 gallon tank raised from the shelf it is on with little clay pot feet. We taped the heat mat to the tank, and then right below the mat we have two tiles to absorb heat. I like to be safe. :)

Good luck. Hope you didn't stick it to the tank already!

I have removed mine before and stuck it again and it works fine. It is really hard to do. But what I did is I tried to keep the pad straight while pulling it off slowly. Otherwise, if you bend it while pulling it off, it could damage the wiring in it or something.

So I decided, if I have to do it again, I'm going to use something to help unstick the adhesive and then place it on a tile or something underneath the viv without sticking it directly to the tank.
