This might be a dumb question but I feed my corn snake frozen pinkies and she never once has constricted one. Is this normal?

Yep, this is very normal.

My Ball Python and 1 of my corns constrict their food bfore they eat it and my other 4 corns just start eating it strate away.

How big and what morph is your snake???

Cheers

Alex

It's a ghost (it tells you in the sig strip) ;)

Most snakes won't constrict pinkies anyway as they wouldn't really need to. Pinkies wouldn't put up much of a fight in the wild I would guess :D You could notice when you move up to bigger mice, that your snake starts to constrict. Some do, some don't. If I tease feed, I always get a BIG feeding response from all my snakes!

Cornsnakes in the wild will raid rodent nests and consume the whole nest. They do this by swallowing the pink's alive. A corn will constrict when it needs to over power it's prey in order to eat it. When your corn graduates to adult mice, don't be suprised when it srtangles it before it eats it. I feed mine f/t adult mice and it's a violent struggle every time. It's quite entertaining!

feeding

I agree i love feeding time my snakes go mad when they smell dinner. They even know when dinners coming ill tap my fingers on their tank and they go crazy for their dinner the results are sometimes a bit gruesome they constrict their food that much the adult mice pop yuk.

Azrael has only ever constricted once, and that was when I went up from pinkies to his first fuzzy. Hasn't even bothered with them since though - just wolfs them straight down. Shame, as it was fantastic to see. Am hoping that he starts again when we next go up a prey size!
