Crazy Critter Lady
Ok so Shade laid 10 eggs, 9 deffinitely good one iffy. She is eating well and I expect a quick recovery of condition.

What gets me is I bred Blood Rayne 2/15/2011, she turned blue about 3/1/2011 refusing meals and males the the whole time. While blue still refused food and I did not try her with a male. Finally shed 3/11/2011 and is still refusing food, I have not noticed a change in body shape, do not believe I feel any eggs in her, and now she is refusing to be handled at all. Also her scales are crinkly again like she was just before she went blue.

Anyone ever had this happen before or is this just a REALLY wierd year for breeding?

I've heard of female reabsorbing eggs. Could this be the problem?

That would suck lol. I figure if I have not seen eggs by June and there is no sign of eggbinding I will simply attempt to rebreed her. If she starts eating that is. She is in her laybox now. She has been in and out, mostly out, of that thing since I put it in but has not shown that antsy crazy drive to rearange her viv and try to escape. I'll keep everyone updated.

Um, no one is upset, just stating facts. Sigh its so easy for ppl to read more into it than there is, no harm no foul.

Note: I did some math with a friend and lol I am ahead of sched. Looks like she should lay in early to mid april. My bad, just wish she would eat for me grrr.

Shade's eggs seem to be doing well so far.

I am continuing to monitor Blood Rayne as she has been a bit more active the last couple of days. She tried to flip her laybox but her tub is not tall enough thank goodness. I worried she might hurt herself but after failing twice she gave up on that. She is now back in the laybox and is slowly getting rounder in the back end. Will post pics when she finally lays lol.

Woot! Today I am POSITIVE I felt eggs in Blood Rayne! I can not wait to see them.

Shade's eggs are still looking great, the one iffy one is yellow and kinda glows in certain light so I am pretty sure its a slug but it won't come away from the clump and the shell feels pretty firm and not really all that damp . . .so who knows lol.

Will post pics when BR lays her eggs.

Ok, I can see veins in the 3 good looking eggs from Shade's clutch that I can get the light to, odd thing is the "slug" glows yellow instead of red but appears to have veins? I could not get a picture, they all came out really bad lol. It's odd. Maybe I will get lucky and hace this odd looking little egg hatch xD Temps on this clutch have for the most part averaged 83. There was a brief spike to 90, but it was caught quickly and corrected. Also we had one night that dropped the inside temps into the 50s putting my incubator at 65, will this harm the eggs?

Blood Rayne on the other hand has not gone blue yet. Calculations say she should lay sometime next week, but she has not followed the book so who knows. I deffinitely feel eggs, but they are in her middle and not that close to the vent. I think I have at least 2 more weeks to wait.

Ok the slug in Shade's clutch died, its gone well, ok I did not take it out because its still stuck to the others but no way anything hatches from it, its almost totally flat and rock like. Good news I saw movement in the largest egg which is now the only one I can get the flashlight at! Happy happy!

Blood Rayne, while most deffinitely probing female, failed to produce this year. I am not bothered by it. I was probably too excited at having a diffused and rushed her this year. I will try her again next year, probably with the same male as this year. I had planned to send her to Bob, but I think she will try again with Scarlet instead.
