Rat Snake Information

DragonBoy

Crazy Cornsnake Breeder
Does anyone have knowledge of a forum dealing with Rat Snakes?
I have acquired a 3F 1M group of Texas Rats 3 white and the male is red het white; and a trio of Black Rats 1.2, male is amel females are amel and lavender...Not sure if these need anything different than I have for my corns...I have them set up like I do the corns and all but one is eating at this point. Amel Black Rat female just shed so hopefully she is eating soon.
TIA for any and all help.

Oh wow! What a group! You should post pics.

I have a luci texas rat and I treat him no different than my corns. BUT I am currently having an issue with him so I am not sure I want to give any information.

But good luck!

It is my understanding from reading other links on here that the care for black rats is the same as corns. If I am wrong I'm sorry, but the way I understand it is they all belong to the same genus and are pretty much cared for the same way. I hope this helps a bit.
Also, WHEN ARE WE GONNA SEE PICS!...lol

dang it. I gotta get that silve medal again. I MEANT to say rat snakes and not limit it to Black rats. Sorry.

I have several different types of Rat Snakes and my care for them is no different than my corns. I handle them a bit differently. The Corns seem to like to feel secure so lots of wrapping and hiding, whereas the rats seem to hate being restrained... so they just travel all over while I gently guide em. All are pretty well behaved.

Thanks to all who responded thus far.
The Luci females are all calm and gentle...the red male on the other hand is the snake from hell...He is a coming three year old and he is about 5 foot of spitting biting...you get the idea. I have one cominjg three year old female and the other 2 are 2008 babies.
As for pics if I can ever pry the camera away from the other half I will post them. I find the lavender black rat is the most interesting as she is a small 2007 the other two are late July 2008 babies. Hopefully the lavender will put some size on this year.
Pics will be forth coming...
Promise.
