Awesome finds. I am having serious snake-lust over that glossy though. What a truly stunning snake!

Jimmah, you know Sherry would be worried about the trouble we could get ourselves into here.. *LOL* I personally think I have had a pretty good year so far.. Now to find that Lyre Snake, Speckled Rattler and Ground Snake... Would not mind finding me a Rosey or two, Patch Nose and Leaf Nose or even a Night Snake.. Heck maybe even find me a Cali King would be nice... Approximately 13 species of snakes I have out here, and I can't seem to find a Cali King..

I am having serious snake-lust over that glossy though.

They remind me of a different type of emory... Beautiful animal, the bellys are a pure, glossy white.. Its what one could picture in their mind as what a rootbeer/emoryi corn should look like.. I have not found many glossy's this year, but they are always a fairly common occurance... The three most common snakes I find, are Mojaves. Sidewinders and Glossys...

Sweet finds... I have never found a mojave green :( YEt anyway..
The sidewinders are so young and cute, I like finding them that small..
You gotta take me cruising out there, I have been having cruising bad luck lately and it sucks.. I think the Lake Route season is over after last night :( I'll have to start driving farther away now..

On the flowers... I am guessing most where in landscapes? Except the Second flower which might be native wherever you where..?

The first flower looks like a Red Yucca (Hesperaloe parvifolia) I can't see the leaves and there are other flowers that are somewhat similar but I am pretty positive..

Second flower is a Fairy Duster (Calliandra eriophylla)

Third one is a Yellow Bird of Paradise (Caesalpinia gilliesii)

Yea...that's a Northern Mojave(Crotalus scutulatus scutulatus), and hat other one does look like a shovelknose([Chionactis occipitalis), but I don't know which subspecies, 'cause I don't know where it was found. The DOR rattler is a Northern Mojave, as well(C.s. scutulatus).

Looks like you'tre having a decent cruisin' season! Nice work!

Hey Steph... I am thinking about hitting State Line on Friday.. take the kids for some fun and maybe yank on the one arm bandits for a while, who knows, maybe toss some down on the Roulette Table too... the girls so want to ride the Roller Coaster at Terribles... The Flowers, yes, where part of a planted group in the Barstow area, eithier way I thought they were pretty.. My best times for road cruising is coming up, I seem to find a lot more around June and July.. Although your mileage may vary, but I can;t seeing it being to much different than what I get..

Chris... all of these guys were found in the Mojave in the Barstow area.. One of these days I am going to have to get out and do some walking with the flash light..

Thanks Nanci, the fauna here can be intresting..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

My guess would be most likely C.o. occipitalis, than...Mojave Desert Shovelnose.

When you coming up my way to get your hands on some of these pretty stephensi?

I need to wander that way some time Chris.. You have some creatures out my way I would love to take pictures of and see first hand ... One being that ever elusive Cali King and well of coarse the speckled.. *LOL*

Pete, most times time I am within a 10 miles distance from the house.. The gecko was within a mile.. Maybe this weekend coming up I can do a little more snooping around, ( a snake hook might need to be purchased here sooner or later ).. Worst part, is by around 11 pm I am wiped out and the bed is screaming my name..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

Hey Tim when you go to Stateline, wanna go cruising.. It may be quite warm and the snakes elusive though at that elevation?

I plan to be there in during the morning hours, in time to get some breakfast around 930/10 am... I wanted to get the girls out there for a couple of Celebrations of sorts.. Not quite sure what is in that area, but I can't imagine to many differencres from my local.. * grumbles, damn elusive Cali Kings for me *.. *LOL*
