Reliving some old memories tonight..

Wanted: Jasper Co Okeetee
Me and the Mrs. are going to the Motley Crue concert tonight in Philly. I have not seen them in about 15 years. When I was younger, the were the band for me. Now, I listen to country music and Motley Crue band members are now in their 50's! LOL

Should be fun! :)

BTW, I feel old at 32! LOL

I'm afraid of the answer but will ask the question anyway. Who's the opener?

Let me guess- Cheap Trick?

I only say that because every hair band I saw in High School seemed to have Cheap Trick as the opening act. I must've seen that band at least ten times.

:twoguns: Watch it, that's a one sentence reply!

Not quite, but close...lol

A buddy of mine called me up as I walked in the door from work a couple years ago. He's says "Whatcha doing this evening?"

Long story short, someone at his job had given him tix to go see the Crue and he wanted to know if I wanted to go for grins.

We went and had a blast. Same ol band from back in the day. The first set opened with a crazy stage show with hot chicks dressed up in black leather cop outfits...yep, same ol same ol. We had tons of fun that night, despite the midewest monsoon that commenced during the whole show!

Heh, we lived to talk about it and didn't get VD. That of course prior to the married days!

Have fun Howie!

LOL! I leave for supper and i come back to 8 replies! LOL! I don't think anyone is opening for them but I heard they put on an awesome show! I haven't seen them in about 15 years and yes Quigs, Poisen did open for them 15 years ago! LOL

Dude! I AM very jealous! Hairbands from the 70's and 80's are my kind of music!!! Hope you have a blast!

They're coming to my town in September, hubby told me last night! He wants to go, haven't made up my mind yet. That is too funny, glad I'm not the only ol' metal head out there . . . last time I saw them was in 1985!!! I can't believe it's been 20 years. I have no idea who opened for them, I tossed all my old concert tickets a while back. Hmmm . . . I think it was Loudness, but I don't rememeber.

Hey, I saw Cheap Trick once too, they opened for Night Ranger!

Sheesh, I am dating myself!

Anyways, now that I've relived some old memories of my own . . . hope you have a great time!!! Let us know how it is, maybe I'll have to give my hubby the thumbs up to get some tickets.

Official pronouncement: We're old Farts! Footage at eleven!

Ya'll realize this thread make all of us sound like old hippies from our youth?

"Hey man, I saw Zepplein in '69!"

"No way man! Who openned for them?"

"That's right man, it was The Who that openned for them."

"Groovy man! Is that Freedom Rock I hear?"

"Yeah man!"

"Well turn it up man!"

(It is much funnier when you hear the voices I'm using in my head to visualize this conversation.)

Hey, I was part of that conversation, I remeber being jealous cause I didn't see Zeppelin till 73

I've got socks older than a few of you....

....and I was in the audience when George Carlin was arrested in Milwaukee for saying the "Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television" in 1972...I was 13 at the time.

Well, I gotta get some Ibuprofen for all this typing I've done. ;)

regards,
jazz
(Cheap Trick? Saw 'em as HEADLINERS at local bars in college.)

What a show! The last time I seen them was back in 1988 and Poisen opened for them LOL! If your husband wants to go, it was well worth it. :)

They still put on a great show these days. The pyros were great, had a bunch of clowns, midgets and half naked women running around on stage. Pretty funny actually. The funniest thing though was some of these women fans who wore half shirts and skimpy tight black mini skirts back in the day really shouldn't be wearing them today.
:puke01:

Same ol Crue though...They played 24 songs and the concert lasted about 2.5 hours.

I feel your pain. I recently saw a VHS "Where are They Now" about Loverboy. He still tours, wears the same red bandana around his receding hairline, and still squeezes his 260# into much larger black leather pants. His "groupies" must've been the same gals screaming for his bod in 1980. I almost threw up.
