hello all just quick question about my reostat. I plugged it in to the heat pad and have it turned all the way down and my temp is still 92.9 Could this be a bad reostat? also i have the probe under the aspen on top of the glass

It's possible the rheostat doesn't actually go "all the way down". Either way, if you're still in the 90s with it turned all the way down, I'd get a different rheostat or a thermostat.

I went through three reostats thinking they were bad. They just dont seem to be able to keep the temps that low. I would suggest getting a thermostate

I had a similar issue just yesterday, and fixed it with a change in heating pad. Started out with a ZooMed ReptiTherm UTH plugged into a ZooMed ReptiTemp rheostat. On the lowest setting it was definitely hotter than I wanted. On our other tanks we used the ExoTerra HeatWave "Rainforest" UTH (which is cooler than their "Desert" model). Now on the lowest setting it is perfect.

Ian.
