Reptile smuggler caught at Thailand airport.

I wonder if the parrot or squirrels gave it away. I can't imagine going anywhere with such noisy animals, especially when they hate being in small, cramped spaces. The turtles, torts, and other reptiles/exotics probably didn't like it but didn't cause too much of a fuss.

I always wanted an aldabra tort group, or a Galapagos tort group, if I had the space... like Nanci does. Wonder how he got a hold of the corns?

Wow, that a lot of animals he stuff in the luggage!!
This is why I fear imports. Even if it's a legal importer the trip would seem to stress them out to much.

thats ridiculouse all those animals in 3 suitcases and they had to be huge how would someone not notice that

Hopefully, with the insane prices of the last 20 years mellowing out and all the current successful breeding programs (and I'd personally like to thank all the breeders here of corn snakes and whatever other reptiles you're working with!) this issue will become a thing of the past!

BTW, did anyone else notice how many species weren't even native to Thailand? Weird...

I'd like to know how he kept a bird like an African Grey quite and how he thought he'd get away with smuggling all those animals.

I did a paper on importing wc reptiles and what they go through being caught then shipped. The way they are collected and shipped is horrible. The majority do not survive being shipped and I've seen horrific pictures of reptiles being shipped. It's the same with wc fish and birds. Even if the importer is a good responsible person who has them shipped correctly I still bet a good amount die.
