Rich, you have to see this.

Jeff, I see you down there, It is my thread, I opened it. I can no longer post on it due to circumstances beyond my control. It no longer serves any purpose. Lets close this thread.

Wade,
I know you are mentally getting ready for the shot..

Oh.My.God! I've never seen that, but I now have such a happy!!! And gosh darnit, I MISS Carnivale all to heck!!!!

So, can we get a show of hands who wants the Munsonator back???? :wavey:

Hey, I see all the pretty ladies at the bottom of the page, and tricksterpup, lets start a new conversation on a less controversial topic.

I'll ask again...yay for your Mentor? You know, the guy that encouraged (read: begged) you to reconsider becoming a mod????????

It might be more effective maybe to post in my new thread instead of a squirrel thread. No disrespect to squirrels intended for the pc.

I am sometimes amazed at what is and isn't considered cruelty to animals by some people. A little female dog can be bred starting at her first heat cycle at 6 months of age, and subsequently at every heat cycle thereafter (averaging every 6 months). This dog is usually bred to a much larger male, which results in puppies too large for her to deliver naturally, so she undergoes a C-section each time. The owners continue along this route until the little dog is well past the usual recommended breeding age and on past 10 years of age. The little dog's reproductive system finally gives out, she fails to conceive the last breeding and actually ends up with a pyometra (a live-threatening infection where the uterus fills up with pus) but it takes the owner over 2 weeks to bring the little dog in to see the vet. When we finally see her, she is so weak that she can barely hold her head up, she is skin and bones, is septic and in pain. The owners didn't bring the little dog in for treatment, they just dropped her off to be euthanized, not even staying beyond signing the forms and paying, not wanting the body back and moaning because they have been charged to have her cremated. The law sees nothing cruel here. I cried when I held her for her final injection, probably the only feelings ever expressed by anyone over her.

And you people are arguing over squirrels...

You're right Susan, that sucks. I bet if you talked to the people they would see absolutely nothing wrong with what they have done.

And that says it all...thank you Susan for sharing that heart felt story with me.

I have squirrel issues here at our home. I live in a large old house that has been changed into a two family home. We occupy the second and third floors. We have had squirrels climbing the trees, jumping to the roof, making holes in the roof, getting into the walls of the house and making nests, crawling on my second story deck, leaving poop on my table and in my grill...now I just cant stand in my kitchen and take aim with a loaded gun in my neighborhood, let alone with a family with two young children living next door. I just dont feel I have the right to poison an animal especially in a neighborhood where people raise children, walk the dogs, kids playing ball in the street...cant risk anyone getting sick from my actions. No, I am not flinging them off the deck either, just saying I understand why some people would go that extreme.

And we ended up taking some baby squirrels out of the wall, placing them in a rubbermaid bucket, putting that around the other side of the house on the second floor deck. She took her babies over a two hour period. To date, she had not come back here to make a nest and has stopped coming to poop on the deck. I have also picked up squirrels out of the road because they fell and died and its mate is in the yard chattering away as I bag it up and place in the trash can.

I think we all have much more important issues to deal with in our lives than to "fight" about a video that someone posted for the simple purpose of offering a bit of a laugh for Rich whom has had some real crappy problems with squirrels. I am sure Wade wasnt saying we should be doing this. I know I didnt take it that way.

Thank you Wade for a good chuckle this afternoon, sorry things went a bit crazy.

~Night everyone, peace!
