Rosy Boas

So I'm still looking at getting another kind of snake, but not going to go with the blue beauty I think. What about rosy boas? I think they are adorable, and they dont get very big.

I know some of you have them and love them, are they nippy or hard to take care of? Can anyone with a rosy maybe post some pictures?

Have you looked up "Noah" in the search? I think Jimmy (tricksterpup) has a grown one, and so does Susielea. Personally, even though mine has been a major pita, she's now eating like a champ and growing beautifully. I got her at 3 days of age, so definitely the youngest snake I've ever owned. She's nippy and strikes at times but has never actually latched on to me. I adore her. She's calm and sweet and rosys have this thing about gazing upward, so it's like they're looking right into your soul. From my limited experience of having one only since August, I highly recommend them. Plus, they're so wonderfully squishy, hence mine's nickname of "the snausage."

One of the best sites I was given when looking into rosys was this one about Rosy Localities. There are some morphs of rosys, but most of what you find are different localities, which in some cases I believe are subspecies. My little rosy is a Mexican one, though I'm not certain which locality!

yeah, I remember the blue-eyed squishie! and thats one thing I worry about, the eating thing, after having Cal not eat. I dont really want a baby, though, I'd rather get a yearling if I can find one.

my ball pythons are nice and squishy, too. I love squishies. ^^

Rosy's are great animals! The coastal species often tend to be rather defensive, so to speak
Young rosyboa's can be nasty feeders, but that has often everything to do with the time of year they are born.
"In the wild" they are born just before wintertime so it is not uncommon for them to go directly into hibernation. In captivity this is a good trick to get them started, just cool them for 2-3 months.

Here is a pic of my hypo Anza Borrego male, his eyes are creepy!
