Thanks for all your help but when I got home from work today I found my hatchling dead under his hide. I was planning to try to feed him today after the 10 day wait. Anyway it is a sad day, but I am also wanting some good advice from this site, which seems to be the best thing I have found on corns. I am grateful for everyone here. I am needing the help in aquiring a new hatchling. I live in arkansas but do not want to go back to a petco or something to get one, mine that just died was a candy cane I have pictures, but I am interested in most colors. I have an older one in my classroom at school that is a regular I guess, so I want something else. thanks

. Unfortunately these things do happen.
Keep reading up on them here and I am sure you will have better luck with the next one.
It is also good that you are looking to find one from a breeder. I have gotten all of my corns from people here on this site and have been very pleased. You may want to try and get one that is very well established (early 05 or an 04) just to be sure you are past any feeding humps and such.

I'm so sorry to hear that I've not experienced it myself but really do sympathise, it must be devastating. I'm glad you haven't decided to give up on corns because they do make wonderful pets.
Next time definitely go to a reputable breeder (you could even buy one from someone on this forum!) and you may want to think about paying a bit extra for an older snake - 'yearlings' aren't as fragile as hatchlings and the breeder will be able to tell you about their history too, always a bonus.
