Scale dryness and peeling

My 1-year old amel has been acting different lately. About 3/4 down the body, one of his red saddles is peeling and the area is extremely dry now. The snake shed about 16 days ago and has past up two feedings since. What should I do?

I'd say have a vet take a look at it. Scale dryness wouldn't trouble me overmuch, I'd just up the humidity a bit, put it on paper towels and watch until the next shed. However, the fact that he has passed up a few meals combined with this could be a problem. Being a year old, I suppose he could have gone into love mode and maybe hurt himself while roaming his viv. Have you noticed that he is more active than usual? If so, his going off feed would not be unusual. If none of that rings a bell, I'd have him checked out.
