scaling back feedings for older snakes?

My corn is a healthy '05 amel. Very active. I'm still feeding once every 7-9 days...should I be scaling back? She's downing 3 hoppers per feed (am going to switch to adult mice as soon as we use up the rest of her hoppers since the 3 hoppers barely leave a lump) I know adult snakes eat less than youngsters but had kind of assumed she'd let me know when she wasn't as hungry. She knows when feed day is coming around, she'll cruise her tank day and night "hunting". Then once I feed her, she's her normal mellow, lazy self until feed day comes again. She has never refused to eat, is a very aggressive feeder. (I have to watch my fingers because she hits her food the second it appears over her feeding tub)

So I guess my question is: do I keep feeding her on this schedule until she starts refusing feeds? Or am I overfeeding? Oh, and she is about 3 ft long and about 2 inches in diameter at her thickest point. She does not appear to be overweight.

I was told by some breeders on these forums that my adult corn who weighs in at 978 grams only needs to eat every two weeks....I was feeding her 2 large mice every 10 days. I just started feeding her one large mouse every two weeks. ??

Wow Markey, I would think feeding 1 large mouse every 10 days would suffice. I was doing the every 2 week feeding with Tiaga and she ended up being under weight, so I bumped her up to 1 small rat every week for 6 months. I have her wieght back up and am now going on 1 large ex breeder mouse every 7 days.
