Shedding- tip of tail won't come off!

Little Miss

My anery corn, Lola, had a great shed- her skin came off in one whole piece- except for a tiny bit at the end of her tail! I waited about a week to see if it would fall off on it's own. It didn't. I have soaked her for about 30 minutes each day the last three days, and it STILL won't come off! I know it can constrict blood flow after awhile. Any suggestions?? Thanks so much!

Have you tried to have him slide through a wet cloth while holding him? The friction/humidity should help get it off.

Take her into the bathroom and let the warm water run. Hold her in one hand and with your other hand, get your fingertips wet and gently rub them against the tip of her tail, soaking the old skin and loosening it at the same time. Keep your fingers wet. Once it begins to soften, use your fingernail to gently pull at the edge of the old skin. You can pretty much just carefully peel it off. Works ever time for me.

I do exactly what dionythicus described, if I ever have this problem with just the tail tip and it does work a treat.

One thing I would suggest though, is that if you ever notice this happen again, don't wait a week to see if it will come off on its own, you will get it off much easier and quicker if you do it as soon after the main shed as possible :)
