It's Jager time!
Beaux is my male Corn Island boa. Hes my favourite of the pair, and the biggest weighing in at 220 grams. Hes also the more colourful.

He was looking particuarly shiney tonight lol!

Damn, first dean with his new ones and now you reminding me again how pretty these boids are.....grrr want...boid....

Elle, you tease. I was expecting that Asian glassy-rainbowy thingy. *sigh*

(But I like Beaux.....just not as much as Bo. Or the Asian glassy-rainbowy thingy.) ;)

regards,
jazz

I love that scale reflection bokeh :) Makes 'em look all sparkly!

Are those 'mini' boas like hog islands? Boas are really neat but man even a 6 foot boa is alot of snake compared to any colubrid I would think about keeping!

It reminds me of the color of crushed peppers...
ok now I want a boid AND a pizza!

Get both! You won't regret it... well maybe the pizza.

My pair had better be in blue! :grin01:

Beaux rox!

Thanks Dean. My two weren't that great looking when I first got them, and the female is still a bit meh, but Beaux is really showing his true colours as he gets bigger and fatter. The breeder had wrote "best" on the back of his printed photograph and feeding records so I think I chose his favourite male LOL

They are similar to hog islands in that they are an insular boa found in only one place in the whole world - The Corn Islands. But hog isles are slightly bigger. The mummas of my two were both 5ft and the dad was only 3.5ft. Thats practically maxed out.

I have never even heard of these before now, and WOW! The colors on him are just amazing! Thanks for sharing such great pics of him.

You are most welcome, any excuse to share pictures LOL. You should deffinatley get one!

OMG guys can you believe this is the same snake?! Have you seen yours go this dark yet Dean?

Heres Beaux this morning. He was at the cool end of his box, so perhaps thats why he was so dark. Either way I LOVE the look. It's like having 2 snakes in one.

As you already know from reading Mr. Russo's holy boa bible, they start "cloudy" and sort of vaguely patterned, gaining color and contrast as they grow. The only disappointing thing is that they lose some of that awesome salmon-y intensity to their ventrals.

WOW! In that phase, he's my favorite boa of all time. :D Mine were pretty dark out of the box, but not that dark. By the time I took pics, they had already lightened substantially. It really is cool as heck. It's like having multiple snakes in one when you consider the range of their color changes. I look forward to seeing mine in that phase!
