my snake always goes into his rock he is in his rock 24/7 unless i take him out and hold him then after i put him in the cage 20minutes later he gets back under his rock is this natural or is this a problem he rarley comes out of his rock
Corns are naturally shy snakes as hatchlings (i'm assuming you are talking about corns here, and not your mystery snake). Mine rarely came out when they were younger, but now they cruise around much more often. If you think about it they are tiny little snakes at this point, and there are lots of animals that would love to eat them - they'd make quite a nice snack. So its in their best interest to stay hidden as much as possible.
One other point is that corns are crepuscular, which means they are active around dusk and dawn. This could be another reason you never see him out cruising. Try taking a peek in on him around 10 or 11 at night. I bet he's out around then.
Well, that is why they call them hides . I have some that spend a lot of time out and some that spend hardly anytime out of hiding. Your snake feels more secure in his/her hide. So it is perfectly normal. He/she is probably out and about when you aren't looking.
