I'v had my corn for about 4 weeks now and when i walk into my room ZOOM she takes off into her hide box. How long will this last>?

Until you quit walking into the room. :D

But seriously folks....

Corns will usually grow out of the "run and hide" phase during the first year.

yeah mine got out of it and now it sticks about 2 inches ofit's head to watch who is in the room

but i have a problem with that

i have a cat that gets in and spots my snake and watches it then might tear up the cage

Lol I think i'm lucky with cats like REALLY LUCKY my mum was puttin my snake back after feeding the other day and i walked i adn she was letting it crawl over the cat n wat's he doing purring like mad n just sniffing it, the other cta sees either 1 and freaks so no danger of cat food? But yeah both my corns are coming out now the new arrival is ALWAYS out so that's COOL! Blaze is just getting used to the idea that i'm not going to get him out or harm him when he's out most of the time i just ignore him so he's happy(ish) can snakes ever be REALLY happy being in a tank and handled or do they just 'tolerate' it?

My 3 snakes used to hide 24/7 for the first 2 weeks of having each one, bt know they are always out, mainly the miami corn and ball Python.

Thanks

Alex

i have had mine for about 3 months now and its still pretty shy. if i wake up in the night and its out, and i turn no my lights she will run in her hide, as compared to my other ones that just sit there and stare at me.

I have a little one that I just got 3 weeks ago. He/she was always hidding under the log. Just this week he/she started to come out. Now when I get home I can see the litte one hanging on the branches or just layin out. It's pretty cool!

Mine seems to just sit in his cocohut all the time. I've only seem him out once, in his tree. Bit of an odd one, eh? I've only had him for two days though, so I'm hoping he'll get used to his tank.

*grin*
Whee!! He just ate for his first time here! He took the fuzzy from the back end though...Now he's sitting in his tree again. He's blue-eyed at the moment too, so I was a bit surprised.
