Since When was animal abuse legal?

Ah, Oren, I'm not able to rep you right now, but I agree completely. The rules are the rules, and frankly Lavendar has been given MORE than enough chances to change his behavior.

On the original topic, I can't view the video, but I was thinking about this thread at work today. In some instances, it can be so hard to define what is animal abuse. I've been accused of being abusive because I train my dog with a remote shock collar. To me, it's a highly effective training method that garners FAST results and leaves my dog with a LOT more freedom than the average dog because I know I can 100% count on his recall up to 1/2 mile. To others, it's abusive. So...I hesitate to judge too quickly without knowing all sides of the story.

This article upsets me greatly. Dx

I love me some deer meat. Didn't care much for Frog legs, and duck was to sweet. I want to try all the other meats, like Ostrich, Gator, etc.

You're not taking that entire website seriously, are you? The whole thing is over-extremist and a product of a very disturbed mind. Do I believe the owner and membership of that site are sincere in their beliefs? Yes, I do. Just as every other fanatical extremist group are sincere in their beliefs. But definitely take ANYTHING you see or read there with multiple grains of salt...and a margarita.

I have eaten just about everything from fish, fish eggs, snails, frog legs, ants, and crickets to snakes, shrimp, buffalo, and elk. And, all manner of 4/6 legged creatures in between. The only things that I did not really like was fish eggs, and snails. Frog legs weren't that great either, but that could have been the restaurant that I got them at. I used to raise pigs, chickens and rabbits. All for food, and shows. Most became "pets", and some of the "pets" became food. I did not enjoy eating animals that were my pets, but did.
I prefer elk over beef, and wild rabbit over domesticated rabbit. I like the flavors of wild animals better.

You just haven't had the right fish eggs then, Aaron!!

Landover Baptist is a comedy site. It's not serious, it's satire. The entire site is making fun of religious extremism.

It's a brilliant satire, which is why so many people think it's real, but it's not. :)

"Seriously? I would never choose abortion myself, but I find it ludicrous that you are even comparing the two right now. Way to derail...

It looks as though you came in here crucifying people for something that was not even the topic to begin with. I find you judgmental and crass, and fully believe at this point that you love to stir the pot when there is no pot to be stirred.

In short; I am offended by you."

Here here! I'm glad this site is being monitored by people like Nanci, Susan & Rich. Mr Lavender or whatever he calls himself clearly has strong opinions & unfortunately has presented them in a very antagonistic manner & upset a lot of people including myself. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but Mr lavender seemed to be bent on posting inflammatory responses. Lets hope he takes his warning & skulks back to whatever dark corner he crawled out of. I'll say no more on this matter.

The original post was about a video about rodeo animals being questionably mistreated or abused. Now many people are here, and have different positions on animal abuse, eating animals etc. Many different people with many different positions, view points and opinions. While I see all positions are tolerated except a biblical one. Was the original poster really anticipating on getting 100% agreeable responses? The thread was decorated with experiences of living on farms, tending rodeos, and fine wildlife dining. All of which was entertaining to read. I simply just give a position from a different perspective.

Okay, I just read the article. I didn't read the entire site. I figured it wasn't real, by just some of the wording. But it greatly upset me, because it can be real.

For someone who claims to be Christian, you sure are trying to be deceitful. This is your first response to this thread:

If abortion is legal why not animal abuse?

This is a total non sequitur. Abortion has nothing to do with the topic at hand and is a deliberate attempt at antagonizing the people in this thread. You claim that the only viewpoint not allowed on this board is biblical, but this is very disingenous of you. The most dominant religious perspective on this board is that of Christian.

However, the one point of view not tolerated on this board is that of trolling in order to start a fight and this is exactly what you did when you posted in this thread.

The topic had to with law or the lack there of. We have very silly laws in this country while very serious matters are leagalized or not enforced. That was the contrast I was trying to get to with my responses.

As much as I hate to agree with you, on this statement I do. We do have very very silly laws in this country, and, even more silly bills trying to make their way through to laws....
