It's really sad when kids do it, cuz they get calloused at such a young age, then they get bored with hurting animals, and so they start hurting/killing humans.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your little kitty; it incenses me to no end when I read about these incidents.

You are correct about the above statement. Studies have proven that people who harm animals often go on to harm humans. That being said, you and your family must report these incidents. You can't prove it? Doesn't matter; eventually someone will be able to prove it, and your reports will be on file. It may only be circumstantial evidence, but your reports will lend credibility to the prosecution, and may help to convict these losers. Above all, you should not live in fear of retaliation. People like this feed on fear; it only empowers them when others stay silent. So please, report these incidents, and insist on a written report and complaint number.

Any time I've had an indoor/outdoor cat, they were happy. Anytime I had an indoor cat, they were not. They were all given love and attention. If cats were created to be indoors only, why the claws?

I never said cats were designed to be indoors only, my point (apparently misinterpreted) is that you as an owner have an obligation to protect your animals. If that means keeping them indoors then you need to find a cat that meshes with your home and will not go stir crazy. I'll admit that there are some who do insist on being outside. I'm primarily citing your particular situation. If you know that there are people who are intentionally torturing and killing your cats then why do you keep letting them out and into those thugs' hands? If you don't want an indoor cat then don't have a cat at all. It isn't worth allowing an animal to get hurt because of your personal desire to own a cat. It boggles my mind that you seem to be avoiding the point. You have to prevent animals from getting hurt. You know someone is hurting them and you continue to put them in harm's way.

If you read on here about someone who had a corn that escaped its viv because the lid wasn't properly secured and their cat/dog/child harmed or killed it, wouldn't you suggest better husbandry? If you read that that same person had more than one snake get out and was injured or killed, wouldn't you suggest that they not keep snakes? This is my point.

They're not used to being contained. Same thing with cats.

This just doesnt make sense at all. I have had cats for years and never had problems with them being indoors. In fact, my 2 girls i have at home prefer to look outside but do not want to go out.

I agree a 100% on this another anology would be would you allow your children to play in the yard of a known repeat offending child molester?

If someone is killing your animals, you dont keep on putting new ones to be killed?
Your family is just a liable at killing them as the people that did this.

Sorry I can't give you sympathy on this or any pity.

I'm sorry I came across as someone needing sympathy in this matter. I just needed to vent. I greatly appreciate everybody's advice. I know you all mean well, and I thank you.

However, I'm still bummed about the whole thing, and there's nothing I can do. We can report till we're blue in the face, but the legal system here is not the best in the world. But I know Who sees, and He will serve due justice.

Again, thank you, everybody, for your input.

I am truly sorry for your loss, Sky was just a baby! I hope they catch who did this. Are you in S. CA?
