Sleepy corn

I was playing with my corn earlier today and she fell asleep in my hand!! I got a phone call just when I was about to let her back in her vivarium so I lowered my hand thinking she'd get off on her own. But when I got off the phone half an hour later, I found her curled up in the palm of my hand, fast asleep. I had to shake her a bit to wake her up. As cute as it was, I'm concerned if that could be a sign of illness or poor health. What do you guys think?

Honestly, I've never heard of a snake "falling asleep" like that...I'm not sure it's a good thing but it could just mean she got comfy and decided to stay there...

Corn Snakes are usually awake dawn/dusk/night-time, so she's supposed to be asleep during the day.

However, for a Corn that small to be so relaxed is unusual. I'd still expect her to be looking around and to be alert. Couple of things I'd check - is she eating OK? What are the temps in her viv (warm end and cool end)?

It was in the middle of the day when it happened and I had my hand about 2-3" above the floor in the vivarium so no reason why she couldn't just got off if she wanted to. The temp in the viv is usually around 80(hot)-72(cold) and she spends most of her time curled up at the cold end. Currently she's still on the feeding schedule the pet store told me, one pinkie a week, but I'm working on shortening the time between feeding right now. She's only two months old by the way.
One of the main reasons why I got her at the pet store was because she was so people friendly. While most of the baby corns would prefer not to be held, she was totally fascinated by human hands and would chose to climb higher and higher up a person's arm if given the chance.
She does seem to be sleeping a lot more than the other baby corn also from the same clutch though.

I honestly have never seen my guy out of his hides unless I am doing something to get him out or right after feeding where he likes to climb up into his little tree likely looking for more food.

Meg I can't believe I did not tell you this story! And I agree w/ you I think she got comfy in her warm hand. :)

I have to share my story on little Grason our 3mth old Anery. Born 7/7/07.
When we got him the kids were holding him a lot, he was very comfortable w/ them. Daniella (my snake lover) 4, would put him on her futon chair & wrap him up in a babydoll blanket, like she does the other 2 & well he fell asleep! LOL
She said "Momma Grason fell asleep" & I was like OMG she killed him or something (she is so gentle w/ the corns) So I looked & sure enough he was asleep, all curled up & head in the middle of his body w/ his nose tucked in. It was the sweetest thing ever. We let him stay there for about an hr. & then had to wake him to put him up. LOL it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. The kids wore him OUT! I think just like any baby w/ a lot of stimulation they get tired & fall asleep wherever they may be.

Grason is eating wonderfully & we have had no issues w/ him. I would not worry if she is eating & is active. Mine still hides a lot. He was hanging out in his vine yesterday so we got a treat to see him during the day.

Take as many pics while you can cause they grow up so fast! :D

Here's some pics of Grason (in blue) As you can see he loves being in the hand too! He'll curl up right there..Take pics..:)

He's beautiful! (but comes in second after mine of course :p)

So far other than seemingly able to fall asleep anywhere, she's doing great. Had a perfect shed a few days ago, eating fine and pooping fine. I even caught her trying to watch Kitchen Nightmare...Her usual hideout place is on the opposite end from the side of the vivarium facing the TV which is also halfway blocked by a stack of books. She climbed up the decoration branch in there, press her upper body up the glass, freeze, slowly slide off and eventually fall off, then repeat. As soon as we turn off the TV she stopped doing it. It was way too adorable.
