The Ring and The Arrow
MY cat being the genius he sui decided it would be fun to jump from the top of my toilet to the fly strip above it. Murphily it landed perfectly in a horizontal stripe down the right side of hos body. I've tried my shampoo, and his shampoo to get the sticky substance out of his fur with no luck. Any other suggestions?

you can try nail polish remover to break it down, or a degreaser for hands like you buy at the home depot stores. If all else fails just give that kitty a trim!...Crrazzzy kitty.

Drugstores sell adhesive remover in the bandaging section. The one I use at work is Unisolve. You could also try peanut butter. Fly strips have really tough adhesive. I had a barn swallow fly into one and die during the process of getting it off. Then I had to take them all down.

I had a dog get into tar once and the vet suggested Mayonaise (oily, edible, messy) it worked. Good luck, susan

I wonder if mayo would work on pine sap. I'm always stepping in that and it is super hard to get off.

The only thing about the mayo is it very messy and you have to wash it off, but I don't see why it wouldn't work??? susan

Definitely do not use anything that is harmful if ingested--remember, cats clean themselves with their tongue. You might as well use gasoline instead of nail polish remover. :nope:

Shaving is by far the safest way to go. And maybe after all his buddies make fun of him because of the silly haircut, he will learn next time not to jump into the fly paper.

I had an alcohol-related long hair+fly paper incident in my youth..........mayo saved me from the hair-clippers :sidestep:
