Snake Drop-off; New addition to my family

Hey all!
Yesterday someone came to my work and dropped off this 6 foot adult male snake! They know I order pinkies for my 4 month old corn, so they came over and asked if I would take it home from work... which I did :)

Anyways, this is "Strike", anyone have any ideas on how to exercise this poor guy? He's in a 40Long tank with one hut and a sm water bowl. I'm gonna need to upgrade his living situation. He's very active when I'm holding him but not in his tank (probably from lack of space). I'd like to get him moving around more and climbing (he seems to like to climb me haha).

Any idea on what species of snake he is??

Also if anyone has any tips for me, since I'm going from a 1.5ft baby to a full grown adult regarding care or anything extra I need to know, please enlighten me.
 
The care is really going to depend on what the species is. The care for a 6' boa is going to be VERY different than the care for a 6' gopher snake. Can you describe the animal other than size?

That's the tank he was dropped off in, I'm gonna get him a bigger one.
 
I don't think that's a corn, it looks more like a yellow rat snake.

EDIT: Let me explain why I think that, the head shape.

This there anyway you can get a picture of the belly?
 
I had the same thought as BloodyBaroness, that it is a Yellow rat snake. IIRC, the care of Yellow rats and Corns is about the same.

To me, the head shape looks a little funny, because the rostral scales are somewhat separated, possibly due to rubbing and excessive pushing trying to get out of a small tank. Although it wouldn't surprise me if he does turn out to be a yellow rat! It's just been quite a while since I've seen one so brightly colored.
 
I'm looking more at the back of head and over the eyes. The parietale and superaocluar scales. The size/spacing of those areas is a bit off for a corn snake.
 
he can eat a little more food at a time than a corn. you can feed him two mice or a small rat every other week after he's had his settling in period.
