I just saw my snake shoot around the tank like a mad man, then just started to jump around inside and bash his face off the glass and off of the top of the tank then i opened the tank try and pick him up and calm him down but he almost shot out the top so i put the lid back on.

Is this the only snake in the viv? Do you have females nearby? What are the temps of your viv? How big is the viv in comparison to your snake? It could be, over crowding and wanting more room, might be picking up pheromones from nearby females, could be to hot in his tank (should use a rheostat to control temps.) or the viv might not be big enough. I am not an expert herpeculturist but I did stay at a holiday inn last night....lol

I'm no expert but I would guess that something was irritating him. Have you checked him carefully for mites or parasites?

I've also heard that sometimes certain human activities can upset a snake, such as when you play a loud piece of music. Sometimes the vibrations make the snake move around. Did you have any rock music playing?

If he was just rubbing his face on the glass, I'd suggest he might be going to shed. But that probably doesn't account for the shooting around!

The viv is 2 feet long the snake is alittle over 2 feet maybe 26 inches. The temps are 85 on hot side 77 on cool side. No females nearby. I wasn't playing any music. He's never been in contact with any other snake. He shed last weekend

Sounds like a possible spaz session. I have a sinaloan milk that does that pretty regular. I wouldn't rule out double checking for things like mites or something stuck in/under scales, etc.

Yeah hopefully it was just a "mad half hour". What's he been like since you first posted, has he calmed down?

My corn randomly did this a couple times in the first few months I had her, and then I never saw it again. All of her conditions where perfect, so I just wrote it off as her being a spaz. I would think that something as simple as a weird, random glass reflection might just rub them the wrong way and spook them, you know?
