Snakes in the news

For some reason, facts seem to be unimportant when snakes are involved in the mainstream media. We see and post so many here that get lost over time, I thought a repository for them would be nice.

Note the photo of a ball.

I especially liked the photo of the two tiny puncture wounds 3 inches from each other, while the text described a "3 inch wound that would not stop bleeding." With a 3 inch wound she would have bled to death...

Wow, her wound isn't even bruised. She was probably drunk off her ass and that explains this statement
'I couldn't get warm and I was shaking. My face started to swell up.

~rolls eyes~ Some peoples children.

New Mexico has a bunch of uneducated, ignorant fools in authority positions.

This one is from 2012... They found a bunch of "poisonous" snakes

This one is recently I am very embarrassed to be a New Mexican.

Especially after this statement
Snakes of any variety can be incredibly dangerous,” said Westhoff. “They will bite, especially when feeling threatened.”

I also didn't know it was illegal to breed or sell Boa constrictors within city limits. They are not illegal to own.

Sounded like a clean, professional operation. Also sounds like if he didn't have the Burms and was doing it in a business zoned location, he wasn't violating any laws.

Absolutely agree with you Chip! I was referring to the Burms, and the fact that he apparently worked off and on as an Animal Control Officer. Kind of a 'he should know better' thing :nope:

That and the impending media hype that will ensue :uhoh: I'm sure most of his collection is harmless, but throw one Burm in the mix and the media will take it and run. By the time it's done, they will have convinced a few more people that ALL snakes, or reptiles in general, are killers, and anyone who owns one must be a criminal :headbang:
